Shower chamber treatment for dehydrated animals. *Not intended for babies*
1. Place a plant, vines, limbs or whatever you choose for the chameleon to perch on the bottom of the bath tub floor. I dont recommend using anything higher than the tub wall.
2. Place the chameleon on what you have chosen for him to perch on.
3. Turn the water on and depending on species you will need to adjust the temperature accordingly. In this example i have a W/C Melleri, I use my best judgement and go with a luke warm setting. For panthers and veileds i would use warm water.
4. Take the removeable shower head and aim it at the wall of the tub (See Second picture). NOT at the chameleon. Activate the water to the shower head and adjust the water bouncing off the side of the tub. To a mist on the chameleon.
5. Monitor this the whole time. I typically let them stay in the shower as long as they are drinking. Sometime it takes 5 minutes before the start and sometimes it is right off the bat. They will also drink sometimes for 15 minutes straight and sometimes just a few minutes or even seconds. Be the best judge. If you are dealing with a wild caught. It is best to do this in sessions. They will drink themselves into oblivion. I typically give a fresh wild caught i have received depending on condition four to five 15-30 sessions a day until they show no signs of dehydration. I strongly suggest and recommend monitoring any chameleon in this situation. Some will welcome this and some will absolutely despise this.
