This is a attempt to save any viable eggs from a deceased female chameleon.
Tools and materials needed.
1. Sharp small blade scissors.
2. Couple paper towels.
3. Rubber gloves if you wish.
4. Incubation container with media.
Start by pinching the skin directly in the center of the belly. Pull the skin away from body. Make a small incision on the pinch skin vertically. A 1/8th inch to 1/4 inch will do. Keep the skin pinched. Place the bottom blade of the scissors under the pinched skin. Be careful not to cut or pierce the eggs. Apply a little pressure pulling the skin keeping it from falling back to the body. The purpose of this is to keep the blade away from the eggs. Release the skin with other hand and move a small distance in front of the scissor blades. Cut skin and repeat till you have exposed the cavity. When you have located the eggs. Gently take one out of the cavity . the eggs will all be connected by the oviduct. Try to expose as many eggs as you can. At this point everything is exposed to air and the oviduct will dry out quickly. Once eggs are exposed. Cut the oviduct just before the egg. From the other side of the oviduct and egg. Place your index finger and thumb against the egg gently forcing it out where you have cut. Repeat this for every egg. Once the eggs have been successfully extracted place them in the incubation container and media you have chosen.
