November Prey Diary - Adult Male Panther

I track what each of my chameleons eats on a daily basis. For this entry, I used an average from what all the adult male panthers ate each day to create this blog entry, thus logging the equivalent of a single adult male panthers intake. ( Previous logs detailing intake of males, females, babies: http://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/sandrachameleon/food-diary/ )

Supplementation is indicated by: C = Calcium (mix of RepCal and StickTongues Miner-al O); CD3 = Calcium with D3 (RepCal); V = Vitamins (herptivite)

All feeders except butterworms are gutloaded. Gutload for crickets and roaches this month consists primarily of dandelion leaves, squash, carrot and yam, as well as a home-made dry gutload (kelp powder, seeds, spirulina, nuts, alfalfa, dehydrated fruit, oak leaves etc). Gutload for superworms is primarily carrot, apple, yam, dandelion and a bran and oat mix substrate. Gutload for stick bugs is primarily blackberry bramble. Silkworm gutload this month is chow and dandelion. Isopods mostly eating dead leaves (oak especially), dandelion, and some fruit.

I do find this information both useful and interesting. My male panther just turned one year old, would you consider him an adult at that age? I would think so, but just wanted to hear your opinion. I don't have quite the variety of feeders that you do, but the dubia especially are well-gutloaded. He really seems to prefer the adult males, I've seen him totally ignore some smaller roaches only to have him snap up a large male with wings!

Hi. Yes I consider one year to be adult (though you'll notice changes continue especially up to around 18months).
Its interesting, how they have their preferences, eh? I have one that loves the male duiba, one that hates them yet will eat an equally large female dubia.

I find your Nutritional Diary very helpful read it everytime. It's always good to see a break down on how an experienced keeper feeds and supplements. I firmly believe before I over fed my guys and I'm sure your extra work has helped more people then you realise.
