Nosy Be Babies, Food Log, August 2010

This is a log of what prey was given to the NosyBe hatchlings (Babies are fed multiple times a day) during the month of August, 2010 (their third month of life). Prey is gutloaded. First half of the month, they got two types of fruit flies, but later in the month was only using the large fruit flies raised in four types of medium. Supplements, if used, are indicated by: C=calcium (RepCal or sticky tongues mineral O brand); CD3=calcium with D3 (RepCal); V=Vitamins (RepCal Herptivite).

August 27:

3 week crickets

August 28:
3 week crickets (C) and small terrestrial isopods
3 week old crickets (C) and a few fruit flies

August 29:
3 week of crickets (C), stick insects, a few fruit flies
3 week old crickets (CD3) and a few mealworms
On this date I separated these hatchlings into two groups. The 5 largest are now moved into a nice exoterra 18" wide and deep and 24" tall. The smaller ones are in two smaller exoterras 12" wide and deep and 18" tall.

August 30:
for breakfast, 3 week old crickets (all three groups); plus fruit flies for the two groups of smaller hatchlings
for super, the larger ones got more crickets, several stick bugs and a few mealworms. The smaller hatchlings got fruit flies ans small stick bugs.

Augsut 31: stick bugs; small superworms, a few turkish roaches and 4 week old crickets (C)
