Nuts and Seeds are a healthy part of the perfect gutload

I wish to promote Nuts and Seeds as a healthy addition to vegetables and fruit for the perfect gutload. Nuts and seeds provide healthy unsaturated fats, protein, selenium and other minerals, Vitamin E, B vitamins and more. Some even have a favourable calcium to phosphorous ratio.
I like sesame seeds (in small amounts) as they are high in calcium and also provide Iron, Magnesium, Potassium, Copper, Manganese and B Vitamins. Poppy seeds also have a high calcium content (again, in small amounts). Although higher in phosphorous than calcium, I also offer some Sunflower seeds (excellent source of Vitamin E) and a few Walnuts (Omega-3 and a number of essential vitamins and minerals, including the B vitamins, vitamin E, copper, maganese, iron and zinc) and also almonds in moderation. The occasional brazil nut is useful due to the very high selenium content. I encourage you to add a few ground seeds and raw nuts to your feeder gutload from time to time, to the benefit of your chameleon. Note: be aware that nuts can be high protein and know that they can go rancid, especially once ground.

How do you feel about Chia seeds?

Well in truth I'd never even heard of them until you mentioned them! So I looked them up. What I am reading doesnt impress me in a major way, but there are some good points. They offer maganese, omega 3, and some omega 6 fatty acid, which isnt a bad thing, and some protein. But also high in phosphorous - which isnt useful if you're using prey like crickets.
