I wrote a fantasy book inspired by keeping reptiles

I'd also be happy to help - been an avid reader all my life, but will force myself to go slowly and savor your work if you'd like me to. I'm a child of the 80's and have kept reptiles for about 17 years, so I think I fit your demographic :ROFLMAO:

Beman, Rest in Peace my little love. June 2018 - February 9th, 2025

I'm so sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed watching your journey with him, to become the chameleon information ambassador that you are today. Because of him countless chameleons have lived with much better conditions than they might otherwise have. His impact, and yours, is one of the most...

    Tail discoloration after bloodwork

Like everyone else said it's normal. My old panther would bruise like this as well. Just think about how sensitive your arm can be after bloodwork, and then imagine if you used it to wrap your arm around a banister. That said, you should see improvement in how your chameleon uses his tail in...

    Under fire threat need advice

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this! I second the idea about the air purifier, and I'd use some tape to seal up the windows. If they are in their own room I'd shut the door and stuff a towel under it as well. Also, if there is an a/c or heating vent in the room I'd shut that. I really...

    My Sweet Boy Reggie ❤️

Such a handsome guy, and probably FAR friendlier than my Reggie! :ROFLMAO:

    Welcome Herbert!

Thanks everyone! Andrew and I have been texting, so he'll get updates. My chams have their own room (but can't see each other), and the door is left open with a baby gate in front for my cats. One can has too stumpy of legs to clear the gate, the other is too stupid to know that he can (he's...

    Welcome Herbert!

I recently was able to re-home Herbert from @Andrew1283 and he's starting to settle in nicely. I was able to get a couple of pics today before freaking him out too much, and I look forward to watching him grow and become accustomed to life here at my house.

    Adult Chameleons for Adoption

I'm so grateful you allowed me to adopt Herbert. He's settling in nicely, and I hope to snap some good photos tomorrow. He's back to his non-stressed colors and is exploring his cage.

New chameleon owner I rescued him in bad shape HELP ME!

If you don't have your heart set on a baby you can often find an adult in good health that needs to be re-homed. I'm about to get my third boy next week, all which have been re-homed, but are all in good shape. This time of year especially, when people have gone away to school and don't...

New chameleon owner I rescued him in bad shape HELP ME!

I'm so sorry that it ended this way, but this is actually the beginning for you. When you are ready you will be very well prepared to bring home a new chameleon and care for them. Baldar would have been very difficult for even experienced keepers to rehabilitate, you did an amazing job and you...

New chameleon owner I rescued him in bad shape HELP ME!

From what I've heard it's the Wild West over there on Reddit, so I stay far away from them. You've received, and will continue to receive a ton of great information here. Keep up the great work!

    Happy Birthday…Becca!

Happy Belated Birthday Becca! Sorry I missed it, but it just means that you get to extend the celebration a little bit. Also, you are about 6 months younger than me, so enough of this "old" talk! :ROFLMAO:

New chameleon owner I rescued him in bad shape HELP ME!

There are ebbs and flows while caring for sick chameleons. You are doing an amazing job, and have learned so much in such a short amount of time. Remember that he had months to get into the bad shape that you found him in, so there won't be an instantaneous fix that pops him back into shape...
