How to transfer Panther Chameleon to the vet?

I should also mention I only use that for transportation to the vet because it's a long ride. Once I get there I have individual shoe boxes (cardboard, not plastic), with a stick inside and another small towel on the bottom. I move the chameleon from the laundry bag to the box and carry the...

How to transfer Panther Chameleon to the vet?

I use a mesh pop-up laundry bag (you could buy one at Walmart or Target), which comes with plastic sticks for the outside to hold it's shape. I take a bendy vine and zip tie it on the inside, making sure the ends of the zip tie are outside of the container. I put an old towel in the bottom...

Do you need to clip/trim a veiled chameleon's nails

The red dots are probably an allergic reaction and very common. After you handle your chameleon make sure you wash your hands and arms with soap and water and they will disappear fairly quickly.

    Adult Chameleons for Adoption

Herbert is around and doing great - I just heard his lights come on, actually. I'm not on here a ton because I've started a small business with my husband, but Herbert is thriving. He's starting to see me less as a threat and comes running for breakfast time.

    My Husband Passed Away

Jann, I'm still shocked at his sudden passing. He was always such an incredibly sweet and kind man, every time I saw him. The devotion he showed to you and all your pets is simply unparalleled - when you two were together he would simply light up when you spoke or he looked at you. He was so...

I wrote a fantasy book inspired by keeping reptiles

I'd also be happy to help - been an avid reader all my life, but will force myself to go slowly and savor your work if you'd like me to. I'm a child of the 80's and have kept reptiles for about 17 years, so I think I fit your demographic :ROFLMAO:

Beman, Rest in Peace my little love. June 2018 - February 9th, 2025

I'm so sorry for your loss. I really enjoyed watching your journey with him, to become the chameleon information ambassador that you are today. Because of him countless chameleons have lived with much better conditions than they might otherwise have. His impact, and yours, is one of the most...

    Tail discoloration after bloodwork

Like everyone else said it's normal. My old panther would bruise like this as well. Just think about how sensitive your arm can be after bloodwork, and then imagine if you used it to wrap your arm around a banister. That said, you should see improvement in how your chameleon uses his tail in...

    Under fire threat need advice

I'm so sorry you are dealing with this! I second the idea about the air purifier, and I'd use some tape to seal up the windows. If they are in their own room I'd shut the door and stuff a towel under it as well. Also, if there is an a/c or heating vent in the room I'd shut that. I really...

    Welcome Herbert!

Thanks everyone! Andrew and I have been texting, so he'll get updates. My chams have their own room (but can't see each other), and the door is left open with a baby gate in front for my cats. One can has too stumpy of legs to clear the gate, the other is too stupid to know that he can (he's...

    Welcome Herbert!

I recently was able to re-home Herbert from @Andrew1283 and he's starting to settle in nicely. I was able to get a couple of pics today before freaking him out too much, and I look forward to watching him grow and become accustomed to life here at my house.
