This info is about my chameleon Archibald Fitzgerald...or Archi
Chameleon - Ambanja Panther Chameleon, Male, Between 11mnths - 1 yrs old as of Feb 9, 2025. Wild Caught
Handling - The first day or so there was some light handling as i was fixing his walking branches, now very little to no handling
Feeding - As of Feb 9, 2025 I will be feeding for about 2-3 weeks daily feeding (8-15 bugs) after which I will switch to feeding every other day
Supplements - ZooMed Reptivite with D3, used twice a month.
Watering - Spraying for about 1-2 minutes twice a day, once in the morning and once at night. Hand-held dripper for drinking daily. The automatic water dripper will be here tomorrow Feb 22
Fecal Description - First poo was normal looking, a little moist, oval, looked soft. Urate was mainly white with some orange. The second poop was the same but the urate was a little more orange than white.
History - I just bought him from a breeder/importer Feb 9th, 2025 over on https://chameleonscanada.com/
He is very docile, displays bright colours (when not basking) has been eating, drinking.. not so much but I do see him drink from time to time.
Concerns - He has been closing his eyes lately while basking. I am going to improve the cage in the coming weeks. The tongue only shoots out about 2-3 inches. I have been told it could be from an injury prior to being imported.
Cage Type - ZooMed screen cage, it is about 40-something inches tall, 24 inches wide, and about 24 inches in length
Lighting - ZooMed for the T5 high output UVB 10.0. The basking light brand is called Thrive "All Reptiles Essential Basking Spot Bulb (light orangeish/yelllow/sun coloured) This is a 75 W bulb because 1) I am in the basement which is slightly colder, 2) I am in Canada ON, and 3) it is currently winter. I plan on switching to a 50-60 W bulb when the weather gets better. It is hanging about 2-4 inches above the cage since it is a higher wattage and I don't want it to get too hot
Temperature - Daytime Ambient: 78-80F Nighttime: 60-70F Basking: Not too sure but I assume it is hotter than 80F since I see the ambient around 80F. I will be getting a thermogun thingy for a better basking reading.
Humidity - Daytime: 40-50% Nighttime: Starts around 100%, I wake up to about 50-40%. Humidifer will be here soon to help nighttime humidity
Plants - Two medium-sized Pothos plants, washed with lukewarm water before putting them in the cage. A few fake plants for extra coverage. I didn't have the best spots to place the pothos plants, I will be rearranging the branch layout soon.
Placement - It is on a table that is about 20 inches high any taller and it might hit the ceiling. There is one vent just below the cage, not blowing air, it's for airflow in the room. From the top of the cage it's about 1 meter to the ground
