And it causes the mesh to rust.
Its not all bad, if you do it high enough from top, you end up with a rain dome instead of a ultra fine mist, this does have some benefits for chams that hate the fine mist.
You have i assume a coconut fiber mulch floor. This can be fine, as long as two crickets dont fall in love etc. Its generally not recommended for beginners. If you throw in some cleaner crew, the poop will be self cleaning however.
Basking spot, surprised a 100 watt only gets to 34c, but...
Gotta remember its a "supplement". Its just a little insurance incase your gut load is not on point. There is no "dosage" only frequency a wee bit is all that is required. There is a huge surface area difference between 6grams of dubias vs 6 grams of crickets, it well over 10x the square...
LoD is still pretty high. Its fine for growing chams, but not adults, still too much D3 for daily use as it were.
D3 levels of popular powders:
RepCal D3+ 400,000 IU/kg
Flukers Reptacalcium 100,000 IU/lb
Exoterra 14,740 IU/lb
ZooMed ReptiCalcium 22,907 IU/kg

Honestly i just take the stick with me, chameleon and all.
I find the broken leg options odd. Even my hamster with a broken ankle just got a bunch of vet wrap and cotton. My water dragon was big enough for a cast on the femur. I mean it doesnt have to be perfect, it just has to be rendered...
Reptisuns havent had to be changed out every six months since they (and arcadia) switched to T5HO. Before that yea "shade" T8 bulbs didnt put out much, so after 6 months, even less of not much.
I run both arcadia and repti sun, and i cant tell the difference with my solar meter. They seem to...
Better than mine. They always want to "find the chameleon". Well I have cages without screen, they are just pvc structures to hold lights etc. People shove there whole head in looking around, since for some reason they think they are hiding in the middle of the cage. Nope, the sleeping stick...
I never got anything like that. I just cleaned out the supers and moved them to a new bedding. I didnt wash or toss them.
But with the batch that OP has, id just toss the few bucks of crickets(in my case it was a fresh $40 box of supers). As for crickets, i always house them with at least 2...
Dont know about dangerous, but oats+poop+moisture=blue/green mold. I have gotten it many of times. I would stick with bran, since it doesnt mold, and you dont get grain mites.
Aw thats so cute they only go for the fingers...
Now if only i could get a certain someone to not taste test my knees and heels :P
At least his doesnt go for fingers and toes, too small, not worth the effort.
I cant believe they are still making (and are really advanced) herpstats. I remember having one in the 1990s to go with my flex-a-watt (which also somehow is still made). It was revolutionary that it dimmed the bulbs and didnt just turn them on and off like all the other controllers.
