    Pictures of My Cams Breeding

Lady Jade, the Little Mamma, is treated like royalty all the time. When I kiss and praise her now, she puts her nose tip-to-tip with mine... she's just too adorable! I'd love to rest her forever -- no more babies -- I believe I've read that they can use some sperm and store the rest for a...

    Pictures of My Cams Breeding

From what I can tell they hatch in 160 to 200 days... I'm thinking some time between July and August I should see some babies emerge from their eggs. I'm a first-timer, so I'm going by whatever information I can find on the Internet and this forum.

    Pictures of My Cams Breeding

Aside from keeping Romeo, who lived up to his name, sequestered in his cage when the ladies come out to play, how would I slow her down? Any words of wisdom will help as I'm a first time Grandma, and Lady Jade is a first time Mommy. It's my understanding that she can be storing the, eh-hem...

    Pictures of My Cams Breeding

I'm now Grandmother to 50 eggs! Mamma has been wonderful, and she put on her preggie lingerie last night... Is it possible after a February 11 birthing she's ready to lay a new batch?

    Losing my baby boy

Sorry for your loss... It is a shame that your herculean efforts did not yield a better result, but, you did your very best to make a short life more pleasurable and I'm sure your efforts were realized.

*** WARNING GRAPHIC CONTENT*** Two of my veiled chameleons got together, and now we are waiting for eggs. I've estimated that delivery day could start as early as February 6th, or as late as the 16th. Today we are starting day 10 after insemination. Jade looked odd after the first "mating"...

Laying Bin Used As A Latrine...

Got my rope bird ladders/chameleon bridges up, and they are a HUGE hit! Yes, they love scraping everything, including their eyeballs, against the natural rope wood bridges. My latest purchase, the bendable wood bridges (ramps), are getting a lot of attention since hanging them last night. I...

Help With My New Baby Veiled...

*** UPDATE *** Dutchess has had her first shed, and her casque is nearly 100% straight! I've taken the advise of some helpful members, and I KNOW she is going to live. I just want her to thrive after such a rough start. I got a few pics before she scattered off through the jungle of vines...

Saved this guy from PetSmart today...

Thanks carol5208! PetSmart claimed that he refused to eat anything that wasn't a meal worm. That a crock of poop! He eats everything I put in his cups. Each chameleon has a water cup, an assorted worm cup, and a cup for greens with carrots or fruits/vegetables from the list of appropriate foods.

Saved this guy from PetSmart today...

There is a female veiled that I've had my eye on for close to 3 weeks now -- she's at PetSmart. She's in excellent condition from what I see, and I always ask to hold her. It would be a giant wall of cages -- I've already got 8 feet in width of cage space × 5 foot high in height space in my...

Saved this guy from PetSmart today...

OMG! How sad when people and pet stores alike, are just in it for money. I would have too much pride to not roll up my sleeves and get down and dirty. For the sake of the get the job done with noticeable improvement to the health and well being of my charges. Whether it's a chinchilla or a...

Help With My New Baby Veiled...

Personally Andee, I'm not fond of touching horn worms, they feel like squishy gummy bears that hang on. They are great escape artists too... I'm always trying to find evidence that they are still alive and hiding out, or they are in a satisfied tummy being digested.

Help With My New Baby Veiled...

Aaaah! That's what I forgot... Dutchess does eat crickets if they are small enough. Dutchess ate one the other day that looked like it should have been removed from the "small" bin. I've tried itsy bitsy, teeny tiny horn worms, but, she's not ever in a rush to eat one. Is it true they bite?

Saved this guy from PetSmart today...

Hello FloydPakasloslo! That's not a bad idea! I've spoken to the manager at PetSmart, and they are still selling chameleons, but, I noticed that they don't have a replacement -- immediately if not sooner -- as soon as one is sold. The same veiled chameleon (female) has been in the glass cage...

Help With My New Baby Veiled...

*** UPDATE *** When I got this little girl, who was supposed to be a boy, she had many problems including a crooked casque. Today Dutchess is looking great, she's gaining weight, not dehydrated and she's on a great diet. Her casque is even starting to straighten on its own! She eats...
