Yes, I know enough to match a picture and description to an image that matches that picture. I also know how to research what medication is best suited for treatment; even the dosing information for age/weight.
Targeted antibiotics are really interesting to me. We have isolated the chemical...
crickets will also pick the items in a dry gutload that they find the most tasty, avoiding a majority of the attempted nutrient supplementation. The ingredient of the bug burger are nearly identical to sandras dry recipe with the addition of gelatin and preservatives
I think a pureed/gel type...
Numbers are totally lame, especially money numbers...
In my experience, which is always very numbery and scientific i might add...
Bug burger is the precursor and majorly responsible for the improvement in a very young and quite sickly veiled chameleon.
His color is getting more...
dont get scammed btw
the person you described is lying to you and probably does not take care of their reptiles
110$ is reasonable for a very healthy and or very hard to get chameleon.
I personally would not pay more than 50$ for a younger jackson as you will end up spending a whole lot more...
Healthy chameleons display activity and alertness throughout the entire day, a healthy and high appetite, the eyes are not sunken in and the skin appears well hydrated and not wrinkly.
Color typically displays their current mood so it is better to judge their behavior as a sign of health.
Feces...
I have been researching parasites and bacteria that commonly affect arboreal reptiles. I am particularly interested in the treatment of the common infections, illness and injury.
Are there un-regulated or homeopathic medicines that can treat the early stages of infection?
I want to know how...
ooooooooh noooooooooo
warm them up, dont be silly... If your chameleon is actually frozen, you would want to warm them back up as gently as possible. Warming too fast is bad.
But yea, find a way to trap the heat from the light inside the enclosure but keep the chameleon away from the light...
This is pretty ideal for a few set ups http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-5-Shelf-24-in-D-x-36-in-W-x-72-in-H-Plastic-Ventilated-Storage-Shelving-Unit-17601471/100006678#.Ujlo5hZ5nzI
I think I took the same idea the wrong direction...
first attempting to use 2 enclosures on 1 shelf then by screening the entire shelf.
I used to have two 18x30 exo's sitting on the ventilated shelving that drained perfectly. However I had alot of prolems with mist spraying through the screen...
So, my addiction has gotten bad enough to literally convert my nice table into a free range setting... I am working on collecting more plants but for now this is all I have to spare from the larger free range...
I had to add the canvas as every time the baby went into her free range, she...
I just tried to feed a slightly larger supplemented cricket to my baby veiled. His reaction was the strangest thing.
He began stalking it and doing the whole rocking back and forth like a leaf in the wind thing. But when he went in and shot for the kill, he caught the cricket only to bite down...
I am afraid that I am too late :(
is there a rock bottom for chameleon addiction?
perhaps we should have a 12 step category in the forums...
I wish I could have an outdoor set up, there is a few very great build guides for a wood/hardware cloth outdoor enclosure...
Oh, I forgot to address drainage and air flow. PC fans can be mounted into the ceiling blowing up past the lights. with the doors closed this should draw air up from the bottom and help dry things out. Screening 2 sides would be a great idea. IF you refuse, try the fans. Do not ever have a fan...
my veiled loves looking at its own reflection.
As for a factual argument, 2 sides screen and 2 sides glass would be ideal for dry and warm/cool climates as they help retain humidity.
Depending on the weather your cham will experience this could either be a burden or a blessing.
Not all...
Young chams eat small worms, fruit flies, and pinhead/small crickets. These are all teeeeeny tiny little bugs that love to crawl right through the 1/4 " holes. Waking up with crickets crawling up your leg is a lot scarier than it sounds. alluminum screen cages are the most common and honestly...
this is my house!!!! says the angry chamereon
She got so mad!!! She saw the baby veiled crawling along one of the lower tiers of the free range and exploded in rage. Followed by immedietly climbing as fast as she could towards me to put her back in her regular enclosure.
I felt so terrible...
