The best approach for humidity IMO is to -
- Mist for around 5-7 minutes one hour before lights on and mist for 5-7 minutes one hour after lights off.
- Have a dripper running throughout the day but it's important the cage gets to dry out.
- Use an ultrasonic fogger throughout the night to keep...
LEDs lighting is beneficial IMO but it isn't 'needed' per se, such as UV-B is needed.
It's your choice - I just provided the information, it's your choice what to do with it.

My Chameleons are kept in a room with a window - lights off, they still have ambient light, they aren't plunged into darkness.
We know Chameleons kept outside, fed wild bugs aren't supplemented... Or at least aren't supplemented as heavily, no one supplements the Chameleons released and...

In the EU incandescents have been phased out and will be banned, once the stocks have sold there will be no more, in favour for LEDs. You'll still be able to get certain incandescents for specialist applications so...

I hand mist (empty the contents of a 1L hand sprayer) one hour before lights on and an hour after lights off. Dripper used during the day which I've never seen them use.
Then have a fogger running throughout the night to keep humidity high (very important).
