I would just like to find out about this. Here in South Africa it is winter time and it is a rather cold one this year. I just want to find out if the cold weather will cause my females to take longer before they lay their eggs. My one female has been gravid now for 5 weeks tomorrow and still...
That part I know, but how do I fisically see if she has laid if I missed seeing her dig and cover the eggs. I think she laid last night, but I want to make sure before I take her out of the laying bin. Will she be noticably thinner or will her colours change, anything like that?
ag no that is ok I will post new ones as soon as I have taken them those pics I sent you are old and she doesn't look like that anymore.
Now I just have another question. If my female did lay her eggs how will I tell? Seeing as I won't notice where she dug is the any obvious signs that she...
Maybe that is why she took so long to lay but looks good at the moment. Yes I have an incubator that has been running for the last two weeks to make sure of the temps so that is all set up, now all I need are the eggs!
Thanks for all the comments I will post as soon as she has laid the eggs
I think I might have success! Today when I got home from work I went to check on her and I have little peep holes so she can't see me and I noticed that she was digging so hopefully this is it now and the wait is over. I am going to leave her in peace now until tomorrow morning and check on...
I have veiled chameleons and my one female mated with the male about two and a half weeks ago. I just want to find out when will be the right time to put her in the laying bin so she can lay her eggs.
Are there any signs to watch for? Do I put her in when she stops eating and when she starts...
I am not 100% sure that she has eggs, but it looks and feels like she does. The previous owner did breed with them and both females have laid before. I purchased a dustbin on friday and filled it up with playsand halfway, put a branch in for her to sit on and a light and then I put her in on...
Congrats! I haven't been on this site for long but your post is one of the one's I can't wait to read when there is a new post. I am so happy for you, can't wait until I have my first babies hatch
Is this normal or what is going on?Could it be the weather because it has been really cold here in SA lately, could that have an effect?
She is now staying up in the branches is very alert and doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her. Could it be that it isn't her time yet, I need some...
Then the oxytocin didnt work, nothing happened, but now she is drinking again and staying up in the branches again I dont know anymore what is going on
In answer to the last two posts. No the vet didn't check her out and I injected her myself. As to if the oxytocin is working not as yet, but her cage is closed up so she isn't disturbed and I only check in once a day to make sure she is still ok, but I make sure she doesn't see me. I noticed...
Ok after talking to a few people here and doing some research I found out that injecting her with oxytocin will help. I phoned my vet here and asked them and they agreed so I went after work and I got the injection. They gave me 3 injections, oxytocin, vit A and calcium.
I injected her now...
