Update thread for ChamBust/SpartyTessy's newborn Jacksons!

Hey, I just started free ranging the feeders yesterday...fortunately, the babies now have no problems eating "size small" crickets, which are just big enough to not be able to escape through the cracks. But yeah, I totally agree with you in regards to the matter, and am pretty sure that's how I...

    15 Jackson Babies...some advice?

Wow...congrats!! My girl gave birth about 3 weeks ago to 21 babies...a few of them have since died, so maybe you can learn from my mistakes... -First off, the babies won't eat until about day 3, so if you don't already have food, no worries about rushing off and getting some. Once they start...

Looking to give away 2 Jacksons, anyone interested??

Right now, we have 2 adult males, 2 adult females, and 16 babies, totalling about 20 Jackson Chameleons altogether. The babies are about 3 weeks old now, and are very big eaters. Long story short, we need to downsize our collection and are looking to give away one of our adult males and one of...

DAY 22 UPDATE Been a while since my last update...haven't had as much time as I'd like with the little guys, but definitely trying our best. Unfortunately, it hasn't been good enough, and 3 more have died, possible one more by today or tomorrow. I've figured out what's going on though...while...

Update thread for ChamBust/SpartyTessy's newborn Jacksons!

Day 13 - Lost another baby today, with one more that looks like she's not gonna make it...the other 18 are all looking solid though, moving around, running away whenever I mist, actively pursuing crickets. Already made a help post in the general discussion forum, and I will definitely limit the...

Lost another baby :( What's going on?? This was him about half an hour prior...

Okay thanks, will do just that. Pretty sure I'm gna lose one more by the end of the day :( but the other 18 are all looking active and healthy. If I can manage to keep them alive, I won't feel like an entire failure :p

Lost another baby :( What's going on?? This was him about half an hour prior...

I mist them three times a day, about 15 - 20 mins each time...they're out in the morning until about 11, when it hits around 80. Then mid-day, I bring 'em in to my living room, although I'm thinking it might just be cooler in the patio, where it's shady and cool

They're kept outdoors, but I bring 'em in the house during peak heat hours of the day (sun still comes in thru windows)

Update thread for ChamBust/SpartyTessy's newborn Jacksons!

DAY 12 - So I was right about the one, woke up today to find her lying on the bottom of the cage. Took her out, gave her a proper burial in the backyard. So 20 of 21 still alive and well, moving around, healthy appetites, etc. Not really worried at any of the others at this point. Figure she...

    Moving and looking at houses

Best of luck! We're in the process of moving as well. Actually, we're renting at the moment and in the process of buying a home (currently in escrow). Our new home will have a sizeable yard, and yes I took into consideration where I plan to put all our Jacksons! (We will have 5 of 'em). We keep...

Update thread for ChamBust/SpartyTessy's newborn Jacksons!

DAY 11: I'm a bit worried about one of the babies. He just hangs there with his eyes closed...barely moves. I don't think he's sick, more likely he just hasn't eaten. Which, I'm not sure why :-( But yeah, at this point he doesn't care to eat or drink. I'll be surprised if he lasts another day...

Update thread for ChamBust/SpartyTessy's newborn Jacksons!

Typical Hawaii law...makes NO sense!! Well, looks like I'll be going to facebook to advertise to local friends first...after which it will be Craigslist. What sucks, is I'll probably be selling/giving the chams to people who don't what they're doing (most people in Hawaii don't, and many...

Check out my baby cham and setup

Great set-up, and I actually have one of my female xanths (about equivalent size to yours) in a bird cage similar to that one. she used to be in a screened cage, so when we switched it up on her, i believe she escaped after like a week! she was nowhere to be found. there's so many doors on it...

Update thread for ChamBust/SpartyTessy's newborn Jacksons!

DAY 10 UPDATE: All 21 babies seem to be doing well, although they do still consistently worry me at times. Earlier today while misting them, I noticed about 4 of them all smashed into a corner. The bottom ones didn't seem to be moving, which worried me so I sprayed them a bit closer and got them...

Do baby Jacksons sleep during the day?

I use faucet water...same thing I've been using on my other 4 chams for the past year! I'm thinking they may just be having trouble gettin good sleep...idk.

Update thread for ChamBust/SpartyTessy's newborn Jacksons!

DAY 6 UPDATE: All are still alive and kicking...only saw one w/her eyes closed, but I didn't spend too much time w/them. I'm leaning more towards the idea of them being tired, as opposed to them being sick, since for the most part they look fairly healthy. So we let 'em soak up the sun for a...
