    Feed by hand

Have you got a feeding cup. What is he been offered? My cham is reluctant to eat and was rehomed to me only eating locusts. They are picky and notoriously go on hunger strike when bored by ehat is offered. I have offered new feeders and he is starting to eat either from his cup or from my palm.

    New Chameleon Owner

I am in UK and he originally came from a massive garden centre which has a fish and reptile section. He was owned by a friend who followed all the instructions to the letter but the advice was wrong and his health has suffered as a result.

    suitable setup for panther cham?

Where is your enclosure situated. I think mine maintains as in an alcove in lounge so quite sheltered without reducing the ventilation. My basking bulb rarely switched off until it's evening and perhaps the heating is on.

    suitable setup for panther cham?

No not all. The regular misting and live plants help with the humidity although long term I will get a MISTKING for convenience. If anything the current bulb (100watt) gets it too hot in the evenings so have a 75 to replace it and have the 100 on a dimmer thermostat until it arrives. My set up...

    What am I Doing Wrong

I see mine drinking nearly every day but am laid up on sofa following surgery so can watch him all day. It's common not to see them drinking. As long as he is active and looks hydrated I wouldn't worry too much regarding that

    suitable setup for panther cham?

I just use paper towels and throw them as soon as I have dried them. The dripper plant is good and my cham climbs down and drinks stright from it. But you have to remember the water is just recirculated and so every day I remove and clean with F10 and then set it dripping to clean tubes too...

    suitable setup for panther cham?

I always believed no substrate as cham can grab some on its tongue if he shoots for a bug on the floor. Also it's cleaner and more sanitary with a clean floor. My live plants are potted in organic compost with rocks on the surface to prevent accidental ingestion on the floor

    suitable setup for panther cham?

Paper towels and lots of them haha. I just keep a roll by the tank and just give excess water a mop up a couple of times a day. It's generally not too bad but I keep it dry anyway as standing water is never a good thing for chams

    suitable setup for panther cham?

It came with him and it's 3 foot high 2 1/2 wide and 2 foot deep. He will need a upgrade once settled as a male of his age should be in a 4x2x2. It's a komodo one so you can Google local stockists. The bottom is sealed glass which is great for not allowing the water from mistings leaking out but...

    suitable setup for panther cham?

Currently I have a 100 watt komodo bulb in as my 75 one blew. This 100 watt sometimes raises it too much so have just got a 75 again which maintains better. To be honest the ceramic came with him and I haven't needed to use it. They need a basking bulb as it's the light from one that they react...

    suitable setup for panther cham?

Hi. I am in the UK and my cham is in a komodo screen cage and I struggle to keep the temp down. What wattage basking bulb are you using? Turn off light and heat at night as cham's are diurnal. For when it's really cold I keep a ceramic heater on a dimmer thermostat which kicks in if temp drops...

    New Chameleon Owner

Hi. I am new to chameleons too. I rehomed an 8 month male panther a week ago. I suspect he too has MBD. I have changed all the husbandry that was wrong and have an appt booked with a herp specialist vet. Total hunger strike and very thin. He is now eating despite previous owner saying he will...

He must feel better for passing this monster!!!!

So restricted here in the UK for foods for him to try to get him to eat. We can't get silkworms butter worms hornworms and stuff like that. We can get what we call morios which I think are superworms. With his last owner he would only eat locust although I have got him to eat a few mealworms in...

Haha. It's huge!!!! I am a nurse so can eat a full meal whilst watching open heart surgery lol. I am new to cham keeping as I rehomed this sickly guy and didn't know if this was a normal poop. Let's see how many other people open Pandora's box and look at this post hahahaha

He must feel better for passing this monster!!!!

Just had him out to clean his viv and remove this plastic carpet that he came with. He then passed this shocker.... now there is a tiny bit of orange in it but the one before was very orange so at least I know he is hydrating now. Maybe it was the move that upset his routine and stopped him...

    Rehomed panther chameleon

Hi Carl thanks for your reply. That white stuff is fake and is already put as it doesn't look very nice anyway. Yes he had a UVB tube 5.0 but was told it would last 2 yrs by the petshop!! Having said that it was new when she bought it in October so was just over its sell by date. Also her...
