I've got some pics of this guy from ages ago when he was less than a year old. I'll gives you Theodore (Teddy) through the ages.
Here he is in November 2007. He was little than, I had owned him for less than a month at that time. He was really personable at that age and would frequently go...
I think he will be fine as long as you just keep spraying him. Don't worry about getting the water out of his eyes he can do that just fine himself. :)
Thanks Brad - that would probably be it. I just have to make sure he's actually basking and acting like normal. When he doesn't move for days to bask it really scares me. Is this common?
The force feed was vet ordered - he hasn't been himself and was not basking or moving for days at a a time.
How long is a "normal" time to be off food?
"Simply put if a plant is not on this list or one of the plants previously discussed then assume it is toxic until you can prove otherwise. For example even the common tomato is toxic. The fruit are not toxic but the plants leaves and stem are toxic. So in choosing plants be thorough it might...
Lately my Male Veiled has been going on hunger strikes and not eating anything giving me no choice but to force feed him.
I woke up this morning and he was refusing food again so I decided to force him a Cherry Tomato as it was the only thing I had that was fresh from grocery shopping the...
that's good to hear! The spectrum is much more white than the regular "basking bulb" so it should bring out his colours more nicely like natural sunlight.
So this morning I woke up to find that the bulb in my heat lamp had died! Ohnoes! The bulb was a reptisun 50watt bulb - the kind you buy at pet stores. Ironically, a few days before I had picked up some new bulbs to use in my apartment.
The spectrum seems to be more white than my older bulb...
I just wanted to let everyone know my little guy is all setup in his home and is really enjoying it! I think he likes to have his world shook up a little bit as his colours are brighter than ever!
I moved him in the shoe box with his enclosure in the back of the car. There was one unfortunate...
I was thinking I'd warm the car up first and move his whole enclosure out to the back seat. Outside is pretty cold, right now it's -11 C. I am not moving too far, about a half-hour drive or less by car.
So I'm going to be moving come the first of January, and I live in TORONTO! I don't know if everyone else knows, but Toronto is crazy full of snow at the moment and I have to figure out how to get my little guy from point a to point b.
He's a 1.5year old veiled in a large 4x4x6 cage. The...
I am also seriously thinking about picking up a misting system. Are there any caveats or maintenance problems with the setup I should be worried about? (i.e. New nozzles, etc.)
I am in Toronto so it shouldn't be such a big deal for me to get out there. I would love to pick up some roaches from CanadianSilkWorms while I'm at it.
Does anyone know if there's going to be any misting systems there? I was considering getting one, but I don't want to have to deal with the...
My Veiled is over a year old and he's still eating like a cow. 10 feeders in a day easily every day. I try to feed him every other day but he seems to be hungrier than what i'm offering him.
Okay, that's what I thought. I didn't explain that well enough I suppose. How many silkworms is too much? Can they be used as my staple feeder with a mix of insects thrown in once every two weeks or so, or is the chitin in the crickets bodies all that important?
I remember someone writing...
I've got myself a ton of silkworms for my veiled. I heard they were good and great in terms of nutrition but have also heard about issues with a strictly silk diet. Can I get some solid info on this?
What sort of tips do you have for hunting for them since it's the season? The one I picked up definitely wasn't limp and tried vigorously to try and get out of my hands.
So today as I was leaving the house to head to work, what do I find but a giaganitc Cicada on my doorstep just chilling out.
What do I do? Why, I bring it inside and feed it to my Veiled! I figured it wasn't posionous, but I was wondering what kind of nutritional information might be out...
How far does the mister actually spray into the cage? I like to get my Cham really wet but he tends to go all over the place and really hide from the water sometimes because he's a grump.
