If you can attach most of the length of the hose to something (wall, side of enclosure, etc.) that will greatly reduce any noise/vibration. At least that was the case for me.
All the methods mentioned here will work fine, but if you can put a hole at or very near the bottom of your enclosure, no need for suction / less chance of poop-in-the-mouth :D
Getting back on topic, the OP confirmed that it is an all screen cage so I assume the base would not be made of glass. If the cage will be placed on a stand that can also be drilled with some space underneath, I would just drill a hole in the bottom of the base and allow excess water to flow...
Added the following new plants to the enclosure:
Bulbophyllum orchid
Tiger Neoregilia Bromeliad
Ficus pumila
Golden pothos
Boston fern
Wandering jew (haven't decided on the placement yet - will probably split up and place around the sides in the bottom)
Or you could just get a terrarium with a pre-drilled hole in the glass!
Wow ... that takes guts! Given that I let chameleon poop just drop to the bottom of my bioactive enclosures there's no way I'd risk getting runoff in my mouth ...
I think Toothless was trying to be humorous referring to baby dubias as "dubious life-forms." I was expecting to see worm-like parasites or similar too when I read the subject title.
2 weeks without food or water (not to mention proper heat, humidity, etc.) is amazing especially for a baby ... that is one tough little sucker. I'd be more worried about dehydration than anything else. Has he been drinking OK?
Also, depending on the ambient room temperature and heat given off...
Looks to be an issue with the front right arm too. Most likely there are issues on the left side as well. Chameleon legs should bend at nice, straight and clean angles. Vet ASAP as others have said.
haha I discovered the exact same thing with the nozzle count. Unfortunately I am way too busy and my schedule too unpredictable to rely on regular hand mistings to keep plants alive. I found that increasing misting times (not frequency) to at least 2 minutes helped a bit. I used to mist mist 4...
Ironically I saw you post this photo in another thread (about bio-active enclosures, I think), downloaded it to my computer, and used it as brainstorming help/inspiration for this build lol. In particular I love the way you "textured" the background and sides and incorporated cork and moss to...
