5.0 is usually okay. 10.0 can really bother their eyes and make them swell up or close and probably hurt their skin too. its sort of like how we use sunlight. you dont want to over do it :-) and the one you want to get isn't a compact. you need a flourescent (the bulb looks like a tube)

i read about that but i thought it might stress him out. he doesnt like the cage being misted so i figured an actual shower would scare him too much. i'm not sure if theres something in his eye necessarily either cuz it happens so randomly and when it swells its like a full on bubble coming out...
