Hi guys! So after a few days of restlessness I took Moody to the vet (she is SOOO large with eggs she looks like shes full of marbles) to make sure she's on track. The vet took her x ray and OH MY GOD...I have never seen something so full of eggs (of course the picture is below for you guys) -...
Fourth - force feeding via syringe should be a last resort as you can really hurt their jaws even if you're being super delicate - the calcium shots are the way to go !!
Alrighty, a few different insights, the first being the "cast" situation - no, of course they don't make casts for chameleons, BUT you can finagle one for her yourself. One of my lil guys was a SEVERE MBD rescue, who has almost made a complete recovery. It was killing me seeing him struggle...
Hi guys !
Alrighty, so for the past 5-6 days my female veiled has been super restless, climbing all over her cage, so I'm thinking she may be making eggs and looking for a spot to lay? I've had a lay bin in her cage for months already (pics included) - the thing is she's very restless but mostly...
She looks great! Eyes aren't sunken in (an obvious sign of dehydration), as another user said, keep an eye on her poops lol, a little bit of yellow in the urate is ok but if it's mostly yellow or orange, your baby needs more water :) I use an exo terra timed mister which works GREAT and i...
Alrighty guys, so I woke up this morning and my little girl has a weird white spot on her back leg, she just shed a couple weeks ago so I really don't think that's the problem and it literally showed up overnight...very weird... any insights?? Has anyone had anything like this happen? I'm having...
THANK YOU for the reply !! Alright, I've made her a laying bin and everything for her cage, I tried to put her in there yesterday and she was NOT having it, wouldn't get off my hand or go in it, she looked at me like "ummmm...what and why..?", and again, is displaying no clutch-bearing behavior...
RIGHT?!?! my male has taken QUITE the large tumbles, (my female is very sweet and loves to hang out but my male would rather take a suicide dive in his cage to avoid my hand), and he doesn't even miss a beat getting up, sometimes he will lay there for a second just still like ".....wait where am...
I looked a LOT....for like weeks turning my (tiny) apartment upside down - we had a new dish washer put in last year and we think some how she must have managed to get in the extra wall space behind it..we have an ooooooold SoCal apt. With a fridge that leaks and goes under the dishwasher...
THANK YOU guys for all your good vibes and well wishes! She has no mbd whatsoever, once I put her in the shower she perked right up and started climbing all over her hibiscus, very strong!! So at this point she is about 7 months old, she of course is much bigger than she was when she went...
NO IDEA. So my best guess, we got a new dishwasher installed about a year ago that wasn't the exact size of our old one, i have NO IDEA how she got access, but she must have gotten inside the wall where the extra space was, and the dish washer must have leaked JUST enough for her to have enough...
I CANNOT EFFING BELIEVE IT...I TURN AROUND IN THE KITCHEN TODAY AND THERE SHE IS. THREE MONTHS LATER....... she needs SERIOUS rehab, tlc, shes super dehydrated and I think may have eggs inside her, once I get her out of the shower I'll post pics and any advice and help would be so appreciated...
Hello ! Alright so about two months ago I rescued a juvenile male veiled with MBD, got him right to the vet, calcium shots for a week, most of you experienced chameleon forum-ers know the deal :) He's been doing GREAT, gotten back almost all his strength, and is even becoming accustomed to...
Alrighty, so about three weeks ago I rescued a lil guy with MBD, he's probably only around 4-5 months old, not in the worst condition but definitely has MBD as a result of poor care. SO, took him to the vet as soon as I got him and got 6 calcium shots to give the little guy...and now my question...
Hey guys, I get notifications every time someone posts here and it's like a stab to the heart... ^ they can definitely DEFINITELY be super fast. Moody never showed herself and I'm not looking for closure, like another user said, that might just be more devastating.
Definitely not in declining health conditions...when I got him I didn't know if he would make it through the night and now hes quite spritely, climbing all about his cage and acting like a happy little guy :)
