Im a newer chameleon owner and have had my guy for about 2 months now. He seems healthy and active even though he doesn't bask as much as i thought he would. I was told previously his stool appeared to have alot of mucus which could be a sign of parasites. I have not had him into the vet yet as...
Yes this enclosure came with a plexi front door but i added plexi glass to the back and one other side and it still is only maybe a degree above room temp, i do have 1 pc fan on top blowing up as an exhaust fan and have another at the bottom blowing in on low which would explain only staying...
Yes this is day time temps. Basking has been low 80s (moved the dome closer over the branch and got it to mid to high 80s but down low in the enclosure its still closer to 70, at night while my house stays the same the misting and fog machine with the pc fans cause some evaporative cooling and i...
The basking zone was low 82ish but last night i moved it a bit closer and got it to 87. Ambient temo is between 67-70. My house is 70 but with the ventilation i see it dip a fee degrees under 70 in the enclosure.
I know chameleons aren't exactly fast animals and i am a new owner but i feel like my guy is moving around possibly worryingly slow. Its not that he doesnt move i have a camera on his tank he he gets around but ar a snails pace. Ive seen videos of people chameleons walking out guickly to them...
I do get home late from work and try to get him fed asap by 930. But will now be putting food in and misting the enclosure begore i leave for work at 1130. Then his uv light comes on at 11:50 and 10 minutes later the heat light comes on. His lights turn off at midnight and i mist again and the...
What a cool guy you have there. I wont give up and will try crickets again next time when i get them. I think my biggest take away is just getting the food up high before i leave for work so he has plenty of time to bask/digest. Today his poop looked like it wasn't fully digested
I do use supplements without d3 with every feeding. And have done 3 feedings with d3 so i guess that would mean ive had him a little over a month an a half. I plan to offer a wide variety of bugs but havnt had him long enough to go through the bugs i bought. I did crickets when i got him now...
But thank you i will put the bugs in before leaving for work so they're already in there when he wakes up instead of waiting until i get home which is only a few hours before his lights go out.
He is eating the dubis but not out of my hand like he would the crickets but he is also in a new enclosure so he may be re adjusting as he never rly had the chance to settle in. But since ive been feeding him the dubis on the bottom thats where he seems to go when waking up. And was worried...
Ive had my panther for about 2 months now, he was eating crickets out of my hands the first week. But since putting him in his new enclosure and switching to dubi roaches he wont eat out of my hands so ive been putting a bowl on the bottom of the enclosure but have noticed now when he wakes up...
I see alot of people using pc fans laying ontop of the enclosure blowing up to help circulate air up through the enclosure. I did add one fan on top but was wondering if it would be ok to have one mounted at the bottom set realy low blowing in aswell. This one would not be on all the time maybe...
What do you guys do for the dripper and foggers? I wanted to avoid putting big holes in the screen but find the fogger and dripper pool water ontop of the screen and dont drain unless flicked. The fogger once pooled up cant blow and am worried about not only damaging the fogger but also the fact...
I think my next enclosure will be a pvc one where i will use the latice but found it much easier to attach it to the screen. And this screen is much thicker then the screen on the zoomed tanks. it feels sturdy even pressing down firmly.
