Hello,
I'm selling my 9-month-old male ambilobe. His name is Nebulas. He's super active and eats like a champ! He tolerates being held for short periods and has never opened his mouth or tried to bite while being held. I've had him since he was about a month old. I recently quit my job and...
Exo Terra doesn't make an enclosure big enough to house an adult Veiled. They should be fine for the babies though, (although most people on here don't recommend glass, the Exo's do have good ventilation). But i'd go with one or two sizes bigger if you were planning on putting them together as...
He's really pretty. What locale is he? At first I thought he looked like a blue-bar Ambilobe, then shed into a red-bar. Which is interesting. But his sloped nose is throwing me a bit . . . He's gorgeous though. ;D
You also don't want to keep these two together once they hit about 6 months old, otherwise the male will start to try to breed with the female. This will cause her alot of stress. She's probably much happier in her current secluded enclosure.
She probably just needs to get used to the new space. How big is her new enclosure? Might also be the temps if they're different than the smaller enclosure.
I really love this question. Beautifully written as well. I've also noticed as I look into my chameleon's eyes, wondering what he's thinking - he looks as if he's wondering what I'm thinking too. He stares straight into my eyes, head cocked to one side, his pupils slightly retracting and...
It's ESU, with a Zilla 5.0 UVB. But I did put in a special order at my work (pet shop) for a Zoo-Med Reptisun 5.0 UVB, because we're out of them currently. So that should be in next week. I'm not sure I trust Zilla for the UVB; I've read that they're not the best for UVB. O.o
I really hope...
Oh, jeez! Thank you so much for that info! I thought about that when I first got it so I carefully read all the instructions/warnings included with the package and it didn't say ANYWHERE that the UVB doesn't pass through the plastic - just said it was for safety. Hopefully Neb will be ok - that...
Ok, sounds good. My little guy only closes his eyes when he sleeps, and I've never seen him close his eyes other than him blinking when I mist. My UVB doesn't seem too bright to me, and it is going through the plastic cover on the fixture and through the screen on the top of the enclosure.
Thanks for the info! My cham can move in and out of the UVB and heat bulb range as well. What are the sight/eye problems you're refering to? What are bad signs to look for?
I have a new Slimline 5.0 UVB fixture on my 5mo. old panther. I've read that most people use Zoo Med Reptisun 5.0 UVB for their chams and I've also read that some UVB bulbs can cause UVB burns or other ill effects. I've had him under this bulb for the last two months and he seems fine, but I'm...
What brand is it? Did you buy it at a pet store? If you bought the bulb recently and saved the box, you can probably just exchange it for a lower wattage bulb where you bought it. I'd try that first, if it were me. Most places are pretty laid back about exchanges.
Good luck! Oregonians rock...
