    Cham fell, looks broken :/

All the vets are closed that accept reptiles.. :/ I guess the only thing to do is wait till Monday. Perhaps get her some pain meds. If the leg was amputated, would that be alright? Has anyone heard of 3 legged Chameleons?

    Cham fell, looks broken :/

Hi everyone, Currently in the search for available vets, but wanted to get any opinions here. My chameleon fell and got tangled into a little net in her cage. I'm assuming maybe she broke her leg or cut her circulation off, and now I'm scared the leg will have to be amputated. When I got...

    Chameleons that don't like paparazzi

Hehe, my veiled doesn't like the camera at ALL! Once she sees my phone, she darkens and puffs up. :b

My Cham is looking quite fat

So I made a container of dirt-ish stuff for her to dig in and make eggs. Does this look right? It's at least 8 inches and there's no plants or anything, so she can clearly see that she might be attracted to digging there. The thing is, I haven't seen her really even touch it yet. Thanks...

My Cham is looking quite fat

Hi there, Pascala, my chameleon, is looking somewhat fat. Her stomach kind of bulges, but maybe it was just the angle I was looking at. I know she'll eventually need to lay eggs, but I don't really know the signs. She's about 10 months old. I have a potted plant, and not sure if that's...

    Formal Intruduction

Hi Stephanie, I'm Kenny! Nice to see such a nice person on here! :D I really like it when the community is super friendly. I'm somewhat new to cham forums as well. I love my little chameleons too! ^_^ I sent you a friend request! (I think, haha)

    Sorta a stupid question(s)

I've found that on trips the cage shakes a lot, so I usually let my chameleon crawl around on me. If you're alone, and someone can't help watch your chameleon, then stick to the cage. I've used a small 1 gallon fish tank with mesh top. But I mostly let her climb around in the car. I don't worry...

What do you do with *your* cham poop?

Thanks guys! I guess I will eventually be removing the soil and substrate, re-pot the plants in a pot, and leave the bottom empty. I think that would be a much better way of keeping things clean, and eventually maybe move to an all mesh cage or something. Thanks again for everyone's input! :D

What do you do with *your* cham poop?

Wow, thanks for all the replies! To those that used an exo terra viv at some point, did you just have potted plants and you put them in the cage? And did water ever build up at the bottom from misting or did your plants have a bowl below the plant to catch the drainage? Thanks!

What do you do with *your* cham poop?

Hi everyone, So I have a little bit different setup (that many like to voice their 2 cents about), but I have an exo-terra cage therefore it has substrate in the bottom. Now the thing is, and most people must have this problem, my chameleon poop is building up. It's hard to get to some areas...

    Mushrooms Growing in Substrate

Hi everyone, I recently got a nice Mist King mister and re-did my chameleons cage. Put a new live plant in (an umbrella) and new substrate down. It's been about a week or so now, and I see little tiny stems rising from the surface of the bottom with little heads on them. I'm fairly certain...

Tail (end of) looks pinched :/

I've included some pictures. I came home today, and my poor chameleon's tail looked different than when I had left her earlier in the day. Her tail is brownish and flat. As you can hopefully see in my bad quality photos, nearly a centimeter of the end of her tail is messed up. I've done a...

    Ferns and Spores?

Hi everyone, I was curious, since ferns produce spores, are they really okay in a chameleon cage? They're a great plant at taking a lot of water. Also, any primary live plant suggestions? I'd like a primary plant that has a decent stalk my cham can climb all over and up to the top of the...

Advanced Cage Concepts: Safely Planting the Bottom

Hi Everyone, I am preparing a new home for my veiled, Pascala. I know many of you might complain that I got an Exo Terra, but I has ventilation and I've already bought it, so I'm not here to talk about that, but planting the bottom. Thank you for your friendly responses! :) I will be creating...

Help making new cage, plants and such

Thank you, reptilover! Your information is very helpful. For the sand, did you just use playsand? I'm sure that part doesn't matter too much. Thanks Txherp, I will certainly check there! :D

Help making new cage, plants and such

Hi everyone, I'm getting a big, new cage to hold my lovely chameleon and would like to put some live plants in it, but I have a couple of questions. 1. My first concern is, do I re-pot the plant, using some other kind of soil? I don't want any kind of dangerous soil to hurt her. 2...
