I'm nervous now! lol jk... I have a few ideas... I need to just start work! What about the bottom of the cage? The one I bought has a removable plastic bottom, should I do that? I'm tempted to turn an old cabinet into a cage... i seen pics of some and they looked awesome
Yea, I have had pablo like 3 months now,and I'm sure he is use to me. I do everything I'm saposta do, like move slowly, hand feed him, leave the cage open, never have loud noises, or any other people or pets disturbing him, avoid bright colors, everything. and he just does not want too much...
hydration issues
I use a hydrometer about a few inches from the bottom of the cage, and soak the special chameleon wood chips in water (water for chameleons) before i put them in the cage. plus i hand mist the cage every day. i never have an issue with hydration.
i'm very artistic and think i could make one look pretty good... but if i water seal the wood, wouldn't the chemicals be bad for my veiled?? and the pic looks good of the home made cage btw ;) what do you use to attatch the mesh or screen to the wood? and i want to go with a nicer shape than...
i seariously don't think a chameleon of 5 months will take my finger off 'bro'.and he has never bitten me once. and if pablo showed any signs of stress i wouldn't try to handle him. he's doing fine, eating, climbs his cage with confidence and has never hidden or ran from me. so i don't know what...
I really want to make a attractive cage thats really large, not trashy looking and safe and durable for my chameleon... i already have a male 5 month old veiled. and i want to move him to a bigger (the one i want to make) and buy a female and put her in his old large cage. so my questions for my...
i think i was just scared of him
i just came to realize that veileds are just moody. no matter what he will hiss and open his mouth, but once i gently put my hands under him he will slowly climb on my hand. every now and then he will still hiss a little, i guess to show me who's boss lol. but i...
I finally just worked slow with him today and he totally climbed on my hand with a little coaxing... he was ready to go back in his cage and nervous, but he was real good while i was handling him. A little hissing, but he was just trying to show he was still boss lol. Thanks for the tips guys.
No luck still!
I have been putting my bare hands in the cage every day to clean, (i have red roses and green leef tattoos on my hands could this be a factor?) and offer him crickets which sometimes he takes, if it's from a cardboard square... but he still hisses, jumps at me, and licks his...
I need tips on handling my male Veiled (3 or 4 months old) for the first few times. I'm nervous, and he is hissing at me, and has popped the back of my hand with his toungue a few times. I know not to just grab him from above... but I want him to become used to me holding him and moving him to...
