My 4 month old Veiled sometimes makes a loud exhale through her nose (like she's blowing a snot rocket) either when she is undisturbed or when I approach the cage too quickly. Is this normal behavior or should I be worried she has a RI? She doesn't seem to have any extra mucus or breathing...

How are you supposed to store reserve water? With a sealed lid or should it breath? Any way to prevent algae as I keep an aquarium heater in the reserve so the water doesn't spray so cold.

Ya she is a female. I know at about 4-6 months I have to give her a bucket of damp sand to lay eggs right? Is there a warning sign? How long do I need to leave the sand and how often will she lay?

Wow she shed the whole thing in about 8 hours. Amazing.

Phew! Ya I noticed that in the last hour it has doubled in size. What can I do to make it easier for her? She has a mist king that goes off for 2 min every 2 hours in the day. I just installed it yesterday though so she is a bit weirded out by it.

Use distilled water or reverse osmosis. The hardness of most tap and bottled water will kill the mister.
