im actually having the same exact problem with a baby veiled that i just purchased at an expo yesterday, im gettin pretty worried now that you said take it to the vet right away but what causes them to do this? and does anyone know of any vets near chicago?
idk if you knew this but i sealed the inside of the cage as well with a wood sealant, will this be ok once its dried and doesnt smell anymore for my new baby veiled?
i recently built an all wodden cage with 2x2s and just finished sealing and staining it, will this harm a chameleon even after a week of drying? or should i wait longer before i put a chameleon in there
i think i might just be cutting a rectangle in the top piece and putting a metal screen on that then ill probably put a hinge on it so it lifts up. as for the sides, they already do have screen, just the back and bottom of the cage have wood panels
as for the top, i will be making holes on that piece of wood that you see in the picture, and as for the wood growing mold, i already coated the entire thing with a sealant, and will most likely try to fill the inside of the cage with plexiglass so water will never touch the wood.
well its mostly all wood made with 2x2s, and i just stapled a screen in the inside of the cage on the front and sides. ill take a picture of it once i get a chance. i live in the suburbs of chicago, so it gets pretty cold. thanks for the link!

i just built a 24x12x24" wooden cage with 2x2s and it came out pretty nice, just make sure everythings even and you use enough screws hah. i basically just made a frame with 2v2s with the dimensions above then put a bottom and back on with 1/2" thick board and then stapled screening on the...
its 24x12x24 hah that was my mistake, thanks for the advice though! im thinking about getting a baby veiled chameleon, any suggestions on where to buy one?
hi, i just started building a cage for my chameleon that i havent yet purchased. I basically built a 24x12x12" frame with 2x2s, put screening on the front and sides and will close the back and bottom with some thick board. i was just concerned about how the wood will hold up against all the...
