Try wrapping three sides of the cage with a shower curtain or something like that! It'll help keep the humidity up for longer. Just make sure you still have good ventilation and that the air doesn't get stale since it's very harmful for veileds.

Try wiping the glass with a microfiber cloth. In my experience that makes them stick better.

I personally wouldn't use any fake plants that are not made specifically for terrariums setups. You can never be sure of the chemicals they have used

If the paint comes off that easily I don't think they should be put in a terrarium
