Off the top of my head I'd say that 8 dubias are a bit too much for your panther - how often do you feed? I can see him basking after a meal that size but he shouldn't be closing his eyes. Keep a close watch on him and cut back to 3-4 dubias every other day to see if the issue corrects itself...
She'll be ok for a day without power, just don't feed her. If it was warmer I'd suggest setting up an outside cage, but it looks like your high is 64 degrees F, which would be a mite too chilly for her since she can't warm up from that. She will probably just sleep through the day, don't worry...
Totally agree with all of the above. I have a temp gun, so I take my phone in and shoot temps in the cage in different spots and take a pic of both the gun gauge as well as where it's shooting in the cage. This makes filling out forms or answering questions a lot easier. Write down everything...
I currently have one of hers who will be 5 in December. I also had his sister until a couple of months ago, she passed at about 4 1/2 years old. Jann is an incredible keeper and the lineages she produces are just amazing!
So be prepared to be overwhelmed! Also, this will make all future expos that you attend pale in comparison. I'll also be there Sat and really excited - haven't been to this one in a few years and dragging a less-than-enthused hubby with me!
I have a reptile room with 3 cages and a Katchy. The Katchy is outside of the cages, and does a good job of grabbing the escaped gnats. Whenever I had an issue in the cages I would wait until lights out and the chams were totally asleep. Then, I would open all the doors to the cages and shut...
I am so excited for Santo's arrival! I've loved Melleri for years but like you was hesitant. Maybe someday in the future, but for now I'm happy with my boys, and can live vicariously through you two!
Read up on the care sheets, then start asking questions. We are generally pretty easy-going here on the forums and willing to help out and answer questions, but please do read those care sheets first. Good luck!
I don't use them, but what about getting lightbulbs of different wattages? This way when temperatures rise outside you can just change out the bulbs to a lower wattage. Mine are all in a reptile room, and during the summer months I run the ceiling fan on low to help with the temperatures and...
I took French and Spanish in high school and still use quite a bit of Spanish between my two jobs. I can get along with my French, but it takes a bit for my brain to warm up to it. I am currently learning German through Duo Lingo and started working in a cardiology office so I also am learning...
Another idea is to get a bag or 2 of ABG mix (Atlanta Botanical Garden) and mix it with the soil in your plants' pots. I do that because it's quick-draining and really helps with the gnats. Buy a Katchy as well, which was mentioned - they work very efficiently. I have mine set up on a little...
