Honestly i just take the stick with me, chameleon and all.
I find the broken leg options odd. Even my hamster with a broken ankle just got a bunch of vet wrap and cotton. My water dragon was big enough for a cast on the femur. I mean it doesnt have to be perfect, it just has to be rendered...
Reptisuns havent had to be changed out every six months since they (and arcadia) switched to T5HO. Before that yea "shade" T8 bulbs didnt put out much, so after 6 months, even less of not much.
I run both arcadia and repti sun, and i cant tell the difference with my solar meter. They seem to...
Better than mine. They always want to "find the chameleon". Well I have cages without screen, they are just pvc structures to hold lights etc. People shove there whole head in looking around, since for some reason they think they are hiding in the middle of the cage. Nope, the sleeping stick...
I never got anything like that. I just cleaned out the supers and moved them to a new bedding. I didnt wash or toss them.
But with the batch that OP has, id just toss the few bucks of crickets(in my case it was a fresh $40 box of supers). As for crickets, i always house them with at least 2...
Dont know about dangerous, but oats+poop+moisture=blue/green mold. I have gotten it many of times. I would stick with bran, since it doesnt mold, and you dont get grain mites.
Aw thats so cute they only go for the fingers...
Now if only i could get a certain someone to not taste test my knees and heels :P
At least his doesnt go for fingers and toes, too small, not worth the effort.
I cant believe they are still making (and are really advanced) herpstats. I remember having one in the 1990s to go with my flex-a-watt (which also somehow is still made). It was revolutionary that it dimmed the bulbs and didnt just turn them on and off like all the other controllers.
That is a non directional bulb, not a flood. Do you have it in a hood with a reflector, or just use at as a ball of heat and keep it closer to the cage than an average halogen flood? Hmm might even be able to keep it low on the side and have basking and heat rising at the same time :P
Make sure to do some temperature testing. Even replacing with the same bulb model can have a 10c swing. And if you are going with a completely different model, you dont know if its a wide flood or narrow etc. So you cant just go my watts or lumens.
Morning is best so he can bask and start digesting. But if you eat a steak its going to take a couple of days to come out the other end. The chameleon it will take even longer. So its not like "oh no it ate a big bug before bedtime" is a problem. I only feed after i get home from work, so...
