Thanks @kinyonga - I've been on here for quite a while and have always been impressed with your wisdom and quiet authority. You agreeing with me just made my day! :)
I have 3 of the Large Atriums in my reptile room. I have a male panther, a male veiled, and a female veiled in them - the female is a pissy little thing and uses the entire enclosure, mainly to hide from me. I personally feel that all 3 use most of their available space and appreciate it (as...
I used to use the 2x2x4' screen cage for all of my chameleons, but since have switched to the Dragonstrand Large Atrium cages and couldn't be happier. I find they use all of the horizontal space available to them, moreso than the vertical. Here's a photo showing the 2 side by side - I was...
Good luck with Jack, he's in great hands now! My panthers always had less of a death grip than my veileds, so that's pretty normal. I agree that he's been overfed, and will probably not be pleased at the idea of a diet. Congrats!
Good luck with your agama group. Fire ants are the bane of my existence here in Naples, so I know what you are dealing with. It is satisfying to kill them though... ;)
Love these little Jacksons! Like some others have said, I'm also in FL, and while I'd love to have one I know my house just can't get down that cold. I'll just live vicariously through everyone on here!
I was lucky enough to hold Piper when he was just a little guy and he fell asleep in my arms - I agree, I think I'm in love with him too! Great looking bunch as always, Jann!
What about writing about line breeding (whether you are for or against it you could make a compelling and persuasive argument), and I think it would help to show the comparisons between chameleons and more "normal" pets like dogs and cats. Just a thought.
Oh he will, that's part of the fun. You think they are just sitting in their cages watching the world go by? Nope, they are planning and plotting their next move... :ROFLMAO:
How long of a drive is it to your vet? I use a mesh pop-up laundry hamper and zip-tie a bendy vine for them to hang onto. Then I put the hamper in the footwell of the back seat so they are secure and can't rattle around very much. Because the hamper is large I also bring a shoebox with...
You can also just get a pop-up mesh laundry hamper, and zip tie a bendy-vine in it for the cham to grab. That's what I use to transport mine for vet visits, and we have to drive 4 hours each way. Put the hamper in the footwell of the car so they can't look outside, but they will be just fine...
