    Swollen hind leg

I think I see what you're talking about, near the midpoint of the tibia. He's about 3.5 years old. I emailed the same pics to my vet, and his response was that, although he can't say 100%, it looks like "early fibrous osteodystrophy =metabolic bone disease" and that if so I should increase the...

    Swollen hind leg

Today I noticed that Drake's rear hind leg is swollen and he seems to be favoring the other one. I took some pics, see below. Also, since I do research in X-ray imaging at work, I took a couple of X-rays which I'll share here. I sent these to my vet, but I'd also like to hear any professional...

Isopods - where and what to buy?

Small Pet Feeders has some orange isopods that are on the large size at around 1/2-3/4" or so. They're called "Giant Spanish" Orange Isopods.

    Chameleon x-rays (radiographs)

In the X-ray of the veiled, is that normal for his arm bones, the radius and ulna I believe, to be bent like that? Or is it just the view that we see there?

Feeding video and tongue shooting problem

I'm glad he got it in the end! I think his tongue has been malfunctioning about 50% of the time lately. Hopefully this will pass and he'll go back to 100%!

Feeding video and tongue shooting problem

I've noticed that Leo sometimes has a problem with his tongue shooting correctly. Here's a kinda funny video of him trying to get a dubia: http://youtu.be/m_m9biNsvzY As you can see, sometimes his tongue works fine, but certainly not all the time. Could this be related to something...

    Need help with Jackson Chameleons!

It's hard to say what their age is, but they could be full grown. Here's a link to thread about my Jackson's. He's a big boy and on page two in this thread I posted a growth chart as well. https://www.chameleonforums.com/drake-jacksons-chameleon-looking-handsome-90180/ I would agree that...

    Chams in MA!

Just to update on this. I spoke to someone at this store who told me that chams are indeed still illegal in MA. He told me that they checked with the Fish and Game department and were told that they won't enforce the law. So I guess for those law-abiding citizens you can go ahead and pay...

    Chams in MA!

This is the downside to having them legal here, now I'll see them in stores where they are not housed correctly and in bad shape. I still think this is a step in the right direction, having them illegal here was kind of ridiculous I think. On the other hand, maybe they made them legal to...

    Chams in MA!

I know I mentioned this in another thread, but I thought it was significant enough to warrant a new thread. It appears that chams are indeed now legal in MA, or at least they now have them in pet stores here which is totally new. Here's a pic I took at a local pet store:!!

    Chameleons in Massachusetts illegal?!?!

I just got back from a new pet store in town, a Pet Supplies Plus, and they have chameleons there! Well, they had a spot for some veileds anyway, but they were sold out. I live in Massachusetts so I guess this must mean they're now legal here!! I can't imagine that they'd be selling them...

He looks great Carol! Hard to believe our chams are almost 3 years old already. Time flies! It's nice to see how their colors are still evolving.

Drake the Jacksons Chameleon looking handsome!

Thanks everyone for your comments! For those interested, here's a growth chart for Drake. I normally try to weigh my chameleons once a week, or every other week. It's a good way to verify that they are in good health, and a drop in weight can be an early sign that something is not quite...

Drake the Jacksons Chameleon looking handsome!

He's pretty mellow. He'll open his mouth now and then but has never actually come close to biting. His grip is really strong! Just holding him can be painful sometimes. Not at all like my panther who you barely feel.
