The High Prices of The New Madagascar Quotas Chameleon Species?

From what I've been told by an importer (and he totally could have been BS'ing me) the high prices are originating from the exporters in Maddy. Supposedly the importers aren't making much profit on these high prices. I'm hoping that importers will simply stop accepting these exorbitantly high...

The High Prices of The New Madagascar Quotas Chameleon Species?

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard on here. Right up there with you being the reason there are new quotas. Not enough buyers for CB parsonii?! I would be a little surprised if they even need to be advertised to be sold. Three people breeding them is awesome, it is...

The High Prices of The New Madagascar Quotas Chameleon Species?

Truth. After about eighteen years of chameleon keeping I finally feel ready to own Parsons. Now that I am I can't afford to... Don't get me wrong, CBB Parsons should totally go for $2000 a piece. When I finally found out about the ban being lifted I thought "Finally, I can get my parsons!" I was...

    June 2015 Photo Contest

I saw in the rules that contest prize winners must sit out the next month's contest. Since I got 3rd place in May does that mean I have to sit out this month's contest? Or does it just mean 1st place? Thanks!

The High Prices of The New Madagascar Quotas Chameleon Species?

You're absolutely right Nick. All you have to do is look on Kingsnake and see how long some of these expensive new imports are sitting at the importers and distributors in subpar conditions. It's upsetting because the average keeper (like me) just can't afford these exorbitant prices for a WC...

    Breeding two Jackson's questions

Hello! Definitely not a good idea. I'm not even sure it would produce viable offspring. I'm sure if you look around you will eventually be able to find a mate of the right species. Good luck!

    A fan?

I think your reasoning is spot on. :)

    A fan?

I really don't think that blowing around fungal spores is something that needs to be worried about in a well maintained enclosure.

    A fan?

I'm not advocating blowing hot 30 C air into a 20 C terrarium. But moving the air around is not a bad thing that is going to cause respiratory issues. I disagree that chameleons will move away from wind movement.

    A fan?

I've never bought the whole "fans are bad" mantra. Just like the "glass terrariums are bad". It's just not true. Air movement is a good thing for chameleons. They live in trees with a breeze blowing on and off throughout the day. However, like a lot of incorrect ideas there is a kernel of truth...

    R. Acuminatus Unit

Listen to Cameron B's advice. A screen cage would not be ideal for an acuminatus. With an Exo Terra you won't need the aquarium fan even. They are an awesome species, good luck!

    T. montium hatching

Congrats and good luck with the babies! They are definitely underrated and an awesome species. I wanted to work with them when they came in this year but all the ones I saw looked really rough and I wasn't brave enough to get them.

    Chameleon scratching at glass

What Lathis said is good advice. How big is his cage? He might be telling you it's too small.
