Thanks for the replies! I actually didn’t end up using my sensi light and went all artificial in my enclosure. It was just so bright it seemed cruel to put in his enclosure.
Are we not concerned about providing him only Dubia as a food source? If no concern, why? Should we not being trying to expand his diet with other feeders?
Oh no!! I’m so very sorry to hear this miss Jann. There’s no doubt he had an amazing life with you and was loved and admired. Sending good energy your way!
Wow! What a tremendous job you’ve done already! I’m actually shocked he made it from the first look of his condition. Order your crickets in bulk from Fluker farms.com. They are just outside Baton Rouge and standard usps shipping will get them to you in a day or so. You can also order super...
I have a 40mm fan blowing air out at the bottom of my custom enclosure. I also have a small 20mm fan in a housing and disguised with fake leaves that blows along the bottom of the cage floor to dry up any puddles. My ventilation fans run 20min of every hour to dry out the floor when needed and...
Male Jackson chameleon in great condition. I do not know the age as he came from a box store but I would guess around a year. He’s a bit shy but very curious. Pm me and make me an offer :)
5 gallon bucket, clear packing tape along top inside edge to keep them from crawling out. Eggs crates, toilet tubes, a diy ice tray feeder dish hanging from camando hook for fast access, a uvb compact overhead, no top on the bucket for ventilation and it sits next to the heat Matt on my dubia...
Thanks for all the help guys. I live in south Louisiana so we have anywhere from 60-80% humidity year round. Inside my home is 45-50% so I don’t think that’s the issue but I’ll put a gauge in to see what it is inside the cage. I’ll try some more ventilation. I’ve witnessed a few of them having...
I’ve been field collecting American bird grasshoppers in an attempt to breed them. They are setup in large Rubbermaid with a side mounted heat Matt, 81f, timer light, climbing branches and fed green peppers, dandelion leaves, sweet potatoes, oranges and carrots. The females don’t last long and...
I just received my sansi Led 70w grow light for the live plants in my new cage build. The sansi led seems WAY too bright for a chameleons cage! I feel like it would be cruel to put this super bright light above his cage for 12hours a day. What is everyone’s thoughts on this...
Sorry if this seems off but you couldn’t you just remove the live plants, switch to artificial plants in cage while you treat the live plants in your garage?
Don't be too hard on yourself, I know its frustrating when we try everything we can to provide for the animals and things still don't work out as we had hoped. I've had an egg hatch over a month later than it's sibling eggs from the same clutch. Hang in there!
