    New to Chameleons

Etsy & Ebay are another great source for live plants - many are organically raised as well. I scored a TON of cham friendly plants at really good prices - bromeliads listed as cuttings that are HUGE; prayer plants; goldfish plants...many you won't find at your local store.

First time owner of a new Panther Cham

If you use butterworms, watch closely for an autoimmune reaction that looks like bruising. If this occurs, stop using butterworms immediately.

Finished with my literature review & my new cage is ALMOST done!!! Now if the weather would cooperate, @Matt Vanilla Gorilla & @Teal Beauty could ship Zeus to me! I think Bowie knows something is up though...

    Are LEDs safe for chams?

I use the LoD, because I have it for my tortoise, but I use it as a multivitamin not as a daily. I alternate it with Herptivite once a month (LoD one week 1; herptivite on week 3 - only 1 dose of each). I use herptivite because I too add additional vit A as indicated above once a month...

    Best foods for Super Worms

My bedding is organic alfalfa pellets, so they eat that. I sprinkle cricket crack on top of that & they eat that. I use water crystals in a flat lid top - they love that. I occasionally put a quarter of an orange, they seem to go for that too.

how much time spent with chams everyday?

At least an hour for feeding & maint. I handle as often as he desires. Feeder care takes about as long. My cham set up is in my office so I am in there all day doing school stuff

    Buying Online VS In Person

I bought from a reputable breeder here on this site (@Matt Vanilla Gorilla) and had my cham shipped overnight from California to Kentucky. It is stressful, but more so for the human. Realistically, you should have a nice budget for the enclosure, misting system, lights (uvb, basking, plant)...

    Are LEDs safe for chams?

I've been using them for a bit - you don't have to worry about brightness - thing about where your chameleon originated. The brightness of the sun in the jungle top of Madagascar is SUPER bright...more than we can recreate in captivity.

    Mist king mist times

I've made sure to adjust my plants for what amount of water they need...changing the location in the cage so they don't get too much or too little. My schedule for winter in KY with heat on is: 8 am 5 min Noon 5 min 3 pm 2 min 6 pm 1:30 8pm 1:30 MN 30 sec...needed to keep humidity up since heat...

    Mist king mist times

it depends on a lot of things - at least the 1st one should be long, like 5 min to stimulate them to drink. The others can be shorter or might need to be longer depending on the humidity levels

    Veiled Cham, broken legs?

I agree - the purpose of this group is to provide accurate information and to HELP people, not chastise them, make fun of them, or to run them off for making mistakes because they didn't know better. We all feel bad for this chameleon, especially her owner.
