    Disposable wild chameleons?

This is an issue with many herps. In poor countries it is poorly regulated. I remember years ago reading about them putting in banned species with a common one. Most just see snakes or lizards and don't know the difference. Plus it is hard to blame the poor collector who likely knows little...

    Escape artist

This time of year Males are bad. Mine is good to stay in his area till the "Season" comes. If he sees the door to the room open boom he's out. Driving me nuts he is so quick about it. Sometimes I wish I could just smack him and say "Knock it off" lol

Chameleon tail turning black and scabbing

So this is how to approach the vet. First let them know money is a issue. Ask what is the corse of action based on results. Often the corse of action is the same. A biopsy is not needed if the corse of action is the same. So say amputation is the answer for infection or cancer. Then a biopsy...

    Look at these feet

It probably isn’t that odd, and I don’t think it is breeding. Cats have 6 toes sometimes, snakes are born kinked. These are not necessarily passed genetically. Some times things go weird. Kind funky though, cask looks like it might have something too.

    Any Advice?

You are ok. If your guy is ok it’s fine. I have a rack for juveniles and so half the cages are basically on the floor. Convince can be overcome. As far as health he’s fine as long as your parameters are good. Don’t stress your ok

    Fog?

When we talk of adaptability I think that many animals can exist even for a few generations in most places that are not extremes. CA is a perfect example. There can be many yeas of acceptable weather. But eventually Drought, fires, severe heat or cold. Native animals have adapted to these "Every...

    Fog?

Yes window screen, but depends on your setup. Usually the can just be placed on top of the screen enclosure. As light are already hear we don't want them here any way. There are usb powered ones and just set on top with it sucking the air out, not blowing in. You may not see it but this will...

    Roach allergies

OK so my 2 cents. I do not know about allergies, but when I need to clean or really get into the tubs I do get a weird nausea feeling that I did not get before. However I believe this is from the sent they release when upset. In concentration I can handle it. I just take it out side and no...

    Fog?

You are correct there is more than one way. I fog, but I just told someone in Florida not to get a Fogger as it likely would not be needed in Florida. It is only a tool not a requirement. The only requirement is temp and humidity. No rules on how to get there.

    Fog?

In short what we are trying to avoid is dumping fog into an enclosure that is at saturation. Humidity and temp are closely related. We should really be referring to dew point. Cold air is dryer so we add fog to bring up the humidity. Warm air is saturated at a lower point. The other reason is...

    Fog?

I apply the same logic. We do our best to recreate. Natural is not sterile. We don’t need every gizmo and gadget to keep them healthy. Fogging is something I see as a benefit for some but not right for all. Location, natural temp and humidity will all play a part.

    Fog?

This is great. You just gave more usable info than the article. We forget how stuffy a room can get with no air movement. It can only be worse in a cage, even screen. Even in arboreal Tarantulas the are seeing the benefits from better ventilation. The tree tops are a unique environment.

    Fog?

I know you don’t like Petr lol. But my point is I don’t think this is by scientists. It reads more like propaganda. They don’t give any facts or proper back information. Like what kind of housing, how often they fog. None of it. Further they acknowledge the benefits but says don’t because...

    Fog?

When you think about it only the animals that die without it get much air movement at all. Increased cross flow is something I have been incorporating more and more with other animals I keep. It can get tricky to balance it all.

    Fog?

One of our biggest gaps is wind. We use screen, but that is nothing compared to a breezy night. This is one of the missing pieces. The dreaded high humidity and warmer temp are an issue across the hobby. I believe this is something ignored. I always mention I use fogging but I always...

    Fog?

I did reread and feel the same. Lots of pre assumption. Though they acknowledge improper husbandry they blame it on the fog, not the combination. They sputter technical terms but if you pull the pertinent parts out all we have is that many respiratory problems involve poor husbandry and many...
