I quit using drippers a long time ago because they tend to add to much extra water into the equation. Misting is all you need, once you dial in the correct amount of misting sessions a day to keep Cham hydrated and plants watered your golden. I also own two mistkings and they are great pumps...
I usually don’t catch babies eating tell they’re a week or two old.
Also, I find it better to hand mist hatchlings because I have seen them drown with a mister.
They look great 👍 I made my own version of theses out of pvc and they work awesome. On occasion something will escape, but who cares because the Cham will just hunt it down.
I didn’t see the original post, that said I still think they should give the chameleon away to someone who can afford the expense. Just my opinion, like I said wasn’t trying to be a jerk.
Why do you have a Chameleon when you can’t afford to take care of it? Not trying to be a jerk, I’m just sick and tired of seeing crap like this.
If your a younger person I guess it’s understandable, if your an adult shame on you!
You need to figure out what bulb you need to get the hot spot no hotter than 78 degrees. The wattage will depend on your room temperature. I personally keep my reptile room at 75 degrees, for me a 40watt bulb 6” off the top of the enclosure gets me to 78 degrees.
He’s fine, they are darker when there chillin 😎 sometimes. They also darken up when they are trying to absorb more heat, like in the morning as you noticed.
What’s the brand of the horse feed your using? I’m almost out of dry feed and would like a cheaper alternative than the commercial stuff made for roaches I’ve been using.
If the rip is bad I would remove the panel and replace the screen. It’s very easy to do. As far as the dragon ledgers they can easily be made from wood.
I place my uvb lamp along the front of the enclosure angled towards the back. This gives me the best coverage and prefect numbers at basking. This is where a Solarmeter really comes in handy.
