Thanks, good to know! From what little info I could find, it seems like they may root around on the ground for prey on occasion! I guess I'll test and see if this is true. I plan to heavily plant the enclosures (probably with some fake plants too) so that they have the most cover possible.
Well. I went back over my books and it turns out that I can totally afford the pair. I'm back in contact and waiting to see if he's sold them yet. Crossing my fingers.
The fact that she's gravid on top of it is what really ripped my heart out. I really do hope a good breeder buys them, and not some stuck up collector xD
Thank you very much. I had to turn down the pair from Chameleon Bros, since I really won't be ready for them for a while. It just about ripped my heart out, the female was quite literally cheeto orange. Somebody buy the pair and let me live vicariously through you!!!!
In all seriousness, I...
He looks like an Ankaramy (pink panther) cham to me, the ultra prominent lateral line sells it. If that's the case, then he'll color up bright pink as he ages! He could also be an ambanja, they often turn dull brown when inactive. Whatever the case, he's an amazing animal!
Also y'all are fine xD I love hearing about other people's projects, no skin off my back that you wanted to share it here lol I'll definitely be on the lookout for the Uroplatus thread @FloridaChameleonLiving!
@Mendez Is there any way to contact Chameleon Can outside of Facebook? I've tried making two accounts now and both have been disabled in minutes without any explanation.
In other news, I have been in contact with another shop, that being West Coast Chameleon Bros. I saw that they had posted an...
It's really shocking how much of a parasite load healthy animals can take! It shows when I've added new fish to a tank, only to have them succumb to something that my other fish just brush off.
Thank you so much for the info, I appreciate it! This all makes perfect sense. I guess I'm used to the disease protocol regarding marine fish, typically a treatment right away is what we do so that diseases don't spread. That said, I don't do that even with my own fish! I keep them healthy...
Hello! I'm preparing to get back into chameleons after a break, and in a few months, I'll be re-starting with with a pair of panthers (Nosy Mitsio or Sambava) and will start breeding them a year or so down the line. By that point, I would like to try and get some Calumma malthe/brevicorne to...
Well, after about 5 minutes my new account, made with a new Gmail, was disabled for no apparent reason. I say too bad, but I'd rather not be on Facebook anyways 😅 I'll find another way.
Thanks for the resource. I believe my old account was cancelled because I forgot to authenticate it before posting, so I may need to make a new one for it lol
Yeah that is what I've seen. I know a few users were working with them a couple years back, but they haven't been on for a while. My hope is that I can find some CB, however I plan to breed them anyways so I may bite the bullet and get some imports to start a bloodline. I don't want to...
Hey! Thanks a lot for the link, I will be reading the site. I've recently discovered Bill's youtube channel which is where I've learned about all of the changes!
As for the species of interest, I'm really fascinated by C. malthe and C. brevicorne. They are just the right size for me and seem...
Hello! I'm happy to join the community after a few years without a chameleon.
Some background. When I was a kid, I got a female veiled chameleon as a birthday present. Kept it in an all-glass exoterra cage for about a month before I learned that they prefer screen. Fast forward over the...
