They're built to take falls to some extent, and it's a relatively common concern (and question).
Here are some discussion threads from the archives:

My panther falls out of one plant or...
Answers in the archives range from 6 to 12 months of age.
If you're lucky (very lucky with a veiled), he may give you a clue by cutting down on his own (self-regulating) sometime around 9 months ±
cross-posted as I was typing...
In that case, maybe very very lucky.
IMO, he doesn't look...
I think that depends on your setup. Some here do use T5 10.0 or 12%, but they're generally more experienced keepers and/or have a good reason—distance from bulb to branch will be greater than that with a 5.0 or 6%.
For most keepers here, 5.0/6% in a Shenzen fixture above a window screen...
Welcome to the forum.
I am not a veterinarian, nor do I play one on the internet.
Was this a certified herp vet with chameleon experience?
IMO/E, he should know the difference between a burn and an infestation/infection.
Here are a couple of sites to help you find a herp vet near you...
T8s and T5s are apples & oranges. T8s are older tech and will likely fade away like Betamax before too long (as current T5 UVB fluorescent tech will soon be replaced by LEDs). If your local pet store has T8s, they could be years/decades old. Between the intensity (5.0 vs. 10.0), older tech...
Should be fine. That looks like a ficus benjamina(?) If so, it'll probably lose some of the top leaves anyway—they can be sensitive/temperamental.
I have a few bamboo sticks; they seem to have helped my male panther develop (strengthen) his grip. I also use wooden dowels (sealed with...
Welcome to the forum!
Your basking temp is a little on the warm side, but everything else looks good—copacetic even. (y)
28/29 (basking) should be good—mine's around 28.
Actually, you might be able to lower that 100W to a 75W—or just back it off a few inches.

I couldn't recall his handle, so I just searched the archives for 'Chuck Norris Arizona'
Come to think of it, I got my cork from a guy who does the local reptile shows. He sells cork rounds for $8-$10 / lb. (depending on the show). Might not be rock-bottom, but he's always the lowest at the shows he does, and you can pick out the pieces you want (instead of buying blindly).
He...
I happened to be at a BBS (Big Box Store) today, and—on impulse—picked up the set of 4 collets (Catalog Number 4485) for $10. I bought them on the gun/condom theory:
Better to have one and not need it than to need one and not have it.
All the different accessories & kits got very confusing &...

Welcome to the forum, Nick.
NOW he tells us....

There are some better deals, but they're currently OOS (Out Of Stock).
Those analog/dial instruments are notoriously wonky. Same can be as much as 40%/40degrees off.
Digital instruments are more like ±2°/2% error. Having a few, they can also be checks against each other.
More later... gotta run.
+1.
Too much sugar from too many berries could also be causing health issues.
Veileds really shouldn't be given fruit—just too much sugar that their metabolisms weren't designed to handle.
I'm not terribly concerned about the hanging upside down. They're all different and some just do that...
+1. For the same reasons, IMO it's hard to go by grams.

Maybe we need a BMI (Body Mass Index) for chameleons...
