I'm not sure "hybrid" is the best/most descriptive term anymore. 🤷♂️ IME, when folks (and mfrs) began talking about 'hybrid' enclosures a few years ago, they were back & sides solid with screened front, door, & top. Since then, the mfrs have gone to glass or acrylic doors as...
Actually, many of us do. For areas like the Northeast and Great Lakes (among others) a well-built hybrid enclosure filled with live plants is best for maintaining humidities.
I'm sorry, but I disagree; IMO, thrive products—for the most part—aren't much better.
tropical essentials kit—Is that...
Every reptile show we've been to has been lousy with ball python breeders, so I would think that would be a good place to meet breeders and see a better selection.
She cut out the Mazuri completely several months ago, so all he's eaten since then is greens and plants in his enclosure. IDT there's anything there with even 15% protein. Probably more like 5-10% if that.
Today he surprised us. He did 3 laps around the enclosure before breakfast instead of...
Our 2 nepenthes are currently hanging in the front window; neither has blooms or pitchers (but our VFT is shooting up a flower stem!)
We need to look up when the dormant period and duration are for this species.
OTOH, we might take a road trip to the water garden store and find some different...
I'm not saying no to a fogger; I said I can't get the temperature drop recommended to run one, so I don't use one, and by judicious misting, I don't need one.
I've kept the little bugger this way for almost a year & a half, and he's perfectly healthy—no respiratory issues.
This way won't work...
IMO, there is no one-size-fits-all answer—there are too many variables; all-screen vs. hybrid enclosure, local climate, indoor vs. outdoor...
From what I've read here and elsewhere, there are also different ideas about keeping chameleons between Europe and North America (and possibly...

Question for you turtle folk...
IDK if it's his species, age, or combination, but Ol' Mitch hasn't quite grown into (or out of 🤨) his shell yet, and of late, it's quite domed. (Huh. It looks moreso from above.)
Anyway, his little legs...
They're more OK with a snake than a turtle/tortoise or the HUGE variety of other lizards? OK.
(y) If only the majority of keepers thought that way instead of thinking of reptiles as impulse/throw-away purchases.
Can't help much. I don't mind snakes, but in the interest of domestic harmony...
"Cheesy" is also relative. When Robocop (1987) came out, it was good enough to get me into a theater. When I see it now (or the whole original trilogy), it's Limburger.
Not what I would call cheesy—and not an award winner—but a classic that IMO still holds up today is the original 1951 B&W...
Dubias come in all sizes, as do most other feeders.

At 3 months, OMG wouldn't take superworms, but he would (and still does) take mealworms as part of his variety.
IME, with some (most?) chameleons...
I'm just thinking about the fecundity (how many eggs per clutch, clutches per female, etc.) over 50 years... Just the math is boggling. 🤪
Of course they don't all survive to reproduce, but it's still a lot of generations of chameleons.
Believe it or don't, cheesy movies (and aficionados) have been around a lot longer than MST3K.
Sometimes, it's better (IMO) to watch them in their original form; MST & RiffTrax edit them for time.
This got started in another thread when Sonny13's latest build reminded me of the cheesy sets from...
