Well I can say for certain I have at least two batches of baby isopods in the setup, I've seen two vastly different sizes and today managed to spot five babies!
Well, I know I'm resurrecting this post, but an update relating to the show. On my travels today I came across one of the builds featured on it. The enclosureygot rehomed which didn't surprise me as while it looked cool, it was arguably useless in terms of actually keeping a reptile due to...
This should be the last update on this post. So after talking to the builder of the enclosure I have, if anyone is interested in acquiring one themselves, contact Cornel's World Terrariums and mention my name.

Essentially when it comes time to move, my enclosure can come with me to a hotel room if allowed in the back of my hatchback, basically take off the top, remove the plants, disassemble the top, seal the drain, put a top on the substrate bin and pack it all up. Requires one person to do all of...
True lol, but to my knowledge, mine is one of the few that can be broken down and transported with ease despite it's assembled size. I am trying to get the builders of my enclosure to add a version of it to their product line as it can be shipped for cheaper then their other setups because it...
Well, I think this belongs here, but with the interest shown in the first bioactive build I've done, I'm offering to help others create the same thing. I know the builder of the base enclosure is able to ship across North America and will change the design as requested but it seems the core of...
In all honesty, when designing my bioactive build, I tried to replicate the natural conditions but also add in components from a good composter setup that tears through compostable material, so far it seems to be working really well and it still smells like a temperate rainforest when I open it up.
Honestly the drainage water I have is like compost tea so I utilize it in my garden and house plants. This is the third or fourth time I've drained it in the 2 months the setup has been going.
And this is the drainage water that comes out. Honestly looks like compost tea. I realize I have springtails in it. And I also have baby red wrigglers in it,however I'm not worried about this as it helps control the population of my CUC and because I use the drainage water on my garden, the...
I mist less than 7 gallons per week and drain away 5 gallons every 2-3 weeks. I could probably get away with having a sealed system. I have a hybrid system as while any excess water is drained away immediately, it is into a bucket that is attached without a valve so the drainage layer is humid...
