Went network branch ‘shopping’ in the woods. Found the really nice ones! Like the others we washed and baked @ 250degF for > 30 min.
Started with the major network branches, including the basking branch. The basking branch is in the back 2” and 6-8” height from the top. Advice on this...
I Installed my Leap fogger and tested the coverage. Looks pretty good from my standpoint. Aside from a dripper, the hydration setup is done. I’ve installed Govee H5074 temp/humidity sensors on top and
Bottom of the terrarium. I’ll keep an eye on the data and setup the hydration schedule...
Marley has is strictly an indoor cat. The cage is high up. And given the materials used in this build, she can’t get in. So far, she could care less about the terrarium. BUT, the crickets (for the preying mantis) are another story! She keeps a close eye on them. When one escapes, she won’t...
Appreciate the kind words. Marley loves the basket bins under the terrarium. I now need to leave one empty for her. By the way, any issues with raising a Cham with curious kitties?
The urge turned into action! I plumbed two drains into the tray. The drain feeds to another ‘brown’ water bin below. Tested with a bucket of water to check for leaks. Marley stayed in her spot, so I know it was a success.
Thanks! Yes, that’s egg crate. The bottom is has a screen under the crate. I struggled to find a drip pan of that length with > 1” height. I bought a bucket head wet vac to suck out the water when it can’t manage the water carefully. I may plumb a drain. Still thinking about it :/
I’ve...
MisterKing installed! I 3D printed a set of corner supports. They worked well.
I have decent coverage with four mister heads. Two in the center and one each side. A bit of water dripping down outside of the drip tray. Working that out next.
Corrected the mounting with Zip Ties. Found some nice UV resistant brown and green color. Blends in fairly nice.
Drip tray comes in tomorrow. I’ll work on the MisterKing install this weekend.
Aired out the enclosure and started the indoor setup. Went ‘shopping’ for sticks at the park and sterilized with heat. With the sticks cooked, mounted in the enclosure and moved our plants in. Can you find the preying mantis in the pic?
