My heat mat is on a rug, but under. I used a plant mat, it doesnt get as hot. Adds about 20 degrees to ambient, which is perfect for me. They'll be fine till egg crate comes. Just give them stuff to climb and hide in.
I'm not sure about the dusting aspect, but my issue would be the gutloading. If you are holding them in a cup overnight, they have pooped out all the gutload.
I'm not expert, but he actually seems to be absent the obvious signs of mbd, I'd expect in this severe of a case. It's amazing to me that somehow, his bones may be ok, but clearly he's dehydrated and malnourished. Am I just missing the signs?

I have recently had a cham shipped from California, to Atlanta. No issues. Came the very next day by 10am. I'm not even sure how FedEx makes any money.
They just are bothered by the red light.
