At what age should we be able to tell for sure. We got it in Aug and it was maybe about a week old, he was pretty tiny. This is like trying to tell a kittens sex!!
Can anyone tell if this is male or female? I have watched videos and looked at pics but I just am not 100%. Breeder thought male, I swear sometimes you can see a bump but I also don’t see it, like I don’t see it in this pic (bad pic?).
I think my husband ordered silk worms. We just got a bunch of bugs from Ghanns today (crickets, roaches and 2 worms/larvae). I put roaches, crickets and black fly larvae in his cup to see if he will go to it and start eating from there.
We will see. I know we needed to get away from fruit flies and bean beetles. I don’t think he/she is big enough for the hornworms and he/she isn’t eating the black soldier fly larvae, which I can’t figure out why. Just doesn’t seem to have any interest in a feeding cup
I have a clear green one so I put that in. Suction cup won’t stick so it’s just resting on bottom. Will try to stick tmrw. Hopefully he/she starts eating out of it. Tired of chasing these damn larvae around
There’s def a ton of info to sift through. I will check out the Chameleon Academy. Got stuff ordered for a new/bigger enclosure. Researching the drainage issue now. Just wanna do things the right way upfront if possible. I know there will be some trial and error. One thing I’m struggling...
Guessing it’s about 5-6 months old. No idea of weight. Probably the length of my middle finger. It’s def bigger than it was but seeing pics I thought he would be bigger.
That does seem like a good option, fewer cords and chances for electrical issues. I’m taking a bunch of notes and looking stuff up on Amazon. I gotta figure out a piece of furniture to put a bigger cage on that has some storage or is open to put a bucket for the mister I’m looking at.
I have no idea what kind of Panther we got, we went to Repticon and I don’t remember the guy saying and we def didn’t know to ask. He was also selling unhatched eggs for people to buy and hatch themselves. I was def not going down that road.
I will have to figure out a good place to do all this. Probably will be my office as I don’t want a ton of bugs in living area or guest room. Will def have to figure out the heating of these creatures.
We need to figure the insect stuff. We keep having to buy insects. Can’t seem to get them to reproduce. So I’m going to do some research on here. We are trying the bean beetles right now. Tried crickets and they all died; not sure if something screwed up when the cat knocked over the...
Ok. We bought some contraption to be able to dust better. Will get a calcium without D3. I figured we weren’t supplementing right. Had a hard time figuring it all out. Once we get home from Xmas will get a bigger cage with live plants and better lighting/UVB. His temp and humidity seem to...
Great! Thanks. Husband said he did order dubias roaches so I guess we will see if they are too big. 🤷🏼♀️ Is there any other supplements we need? Also what kind of cage is best. We have a glass with screen top now. We keep the house at 68 and the cham isn’t under a vent. Just worry a full...
o
what kind of food should we start getting? I haven’t tried to hand feed yet, he doesn’t seem to want to be held (won’t climb into hand), and he doesn’t seem to eat a lot of the larvae and they escape from the bowl. We dust flies/beetles with Repticalcium with D3.
My husband bought a panther cham is Aug, guessing it was about a month old. Idk is was pretty small (size of 1st joint on finger). Well it’s now end of December and I feel like it should be bigger. It has shed 3xs; most recent within the last week. I think the colors are just starting; looks...
