More photos of my male furcifer pardalis, he is an ambilobe who came into my care in February of 2019
Although slightly out of focus I love the shot of his rostrum
The last photo shows him in rare form, the breeder I got him from was interested in breeding him to another ambilobe in her care...
Love it. Not a veiled keeper so things have been easy for me as far as plants go.
The plant in question Stephanotis floribunda is a wonderful plant for decor or for chameleon.
Semi succulent leaves like a Hoya lovely blooms like jasmine it's a total package.
I worry less about them eating...
I just want to echo the lighting issue. Thermal burns are very possible and likely since the bulbs are directly inside of the enclosure. Hope that this is taken as help and that the office / co workers don't take it personally that there is a lot of room for improvement
Big fan of the money tree ! Is this going to be in indoor or outdoor enclosure?
Your fatsia will get really large of you give it the correct conditions and likely will prove too large for an enclosure in time.
It's not that it won't work but you may very well have to do a great deal of...
Thank you! I definitely am inclined to do another custom build in the future this one has been holding up pretty well 3 years strong and a cross town move.
The local reptile and fish stores in San Diego definitely made it easy to use all real wood. The color has faded but integrity still...
The swiss cheese is a different aroid plant than monstera. The swiss cheese will vine and tend to stay smaller like pothos or philodendron, a monsters will climb and develop large leaves and throw Arial roots out of its main stem.
There are other common names for plants that refer them to...
I often times free range my panther in a 4-5 ft tall ficus alii tree with good shade and branch network maybe something smaller or even "ornamental" would work better so you your skink and the chameleon can enjoy some natural uvb together.
I used to have a yard with good space with shade and...
The main consideration I made when using a mist system is that tap or bottled / mineral water will accumulate all the minerals on the nozzle. Eventually it will reduce the spray. I don't think it's a rapid process but one to be aware of none the less.
I also have a drip system you can prob get...
Looks wonderful 👍 Always love seeing live plants in the enclosures, I'd say there isn't too much plants unless it is blocking the light from letting your lower level plants grow. Even with my led lights I've got to trim some of the canopy level plants so make sure my plants down low can get that...
I have also used Mandevilla in my panther enclosure with no issues for what it's worth , I was inspired by @DonKeesh and built a planter box set up for outside
Well I finished just in time for my dude to find a comfy sleeping spot and much to my pleasure he went to a spot branch that was cleared in the pruning. He's curled up under a Hoya and airplant.
Normally I'd wait until tail Tuesday but I couldn't resist
I've cut the infested rhaphidophora tetrasperma back to almost soil I've got cuttings that have been propagated outside the enclosure so if it doesn't grow back I can at least replace it. Here to hoping it bounces back from the spring pruning well ❤️🩹
Does anyone have insight to a systemic...
If you are trying to save space with smaller pots (big pots and plants will block light be mindful the bottom of your enclosure may be completely dark if your heavily planted)
For some instances I like using Hoya and bromeliads as well as other epiphytes as their root systems typically stay...
Hello chameleon keepers my post today is about a problematic past known as scale they are a hard shelled sap sucking bug that is recently started to wreak havoc on my heavily planted enclosure.
For contacts I have a 2x2x4 customized zoo med screen cage I haven't planted with several bromeliads...
I've had good luck with a regular mist cycle and a dripper system to drop onto my highest plants.
I keep two hoya as well as a nepenthes in the top area they all have nice broad leaves and the dripper on the nepenthes is idea as they love damp soil.
It's helpful to place the dripper in a spot...
