I've had good luck with the gosund smart outlet (wifi) each light plugs in and can be programmed as desired for time and even different intervals for different days if you would like.
If you want it to turn on or off at a set temperature you will need a specific piece of equipment I think the...
Keeping live plants is so rewarding and ones that provide a living ecosystem for a living creature is even more rewarding. Every new leaf and possibly bloom is a milestone.
I told my room mates in 2019 when I got into the hobbie If im going to Jack up our electric bill to run lights we may as...
To clarify not the movie style color change a overtime color change, my chameleon has been in my care since 2019 and has completely and utterly transformed his colors he used to be a blue and green blend of colors and over time has become almost solid red.
Aside from time passing I did redo his...
If you have a timer you might want to break it up into chunks of 15-20 mins per hour overnight would be sufficient. I think running it for 4 hours may be overkill. And could create issues with mold or mildew if your doing this every night.
The splash of color is interesting. My panther had a phase where he was totally blue and green then went almost dull colors and transformed to red. Unexpected to say the least. I added a led plant light and it seemed to really liven up my chameleons activity and colors.
Hopefully time will...
String of turtle is very fragile plant, the peacock or calathea plant is a good option for shade and visual aesthetic but not very suitable for climbing either but is perfectly safe. I'm not sure what that Amazon vine is I really like using the scientific names to avoid confusing some of the...
I've added giant canyons amongst others to my indoor and outdoor enclosure and am always thrilled when I see one of the big guys/gals roaming around the leaf litter. After reading thru this I think I'm going to make them a special batch of big burger to snack on
Update on the equipment, I've set up and am trying the sensor push thermo/hydrometer so far so good. It sure is convenient to see the data over the entire day to know exactly what your temp and humidity are doing. Might add more in the future but so far very happy. Seems to have a similar app to...
Pothos are a fairly hearty plant and will really appreciate any supplemental light. Not familiar with that exact led but at 20$ it's worth giving it a shot.
Edit* I have a big ol mama pothos that doesnt have any supplemental light and are thriving on ambient light in my living room*
Pothos do...
Bsfl are superior in many ways, they keep easier last longer and are far easier to actually feed off, also they are easier to gut load they will eat ANYTHING .
They also turn to flys so unfed options turn to an flying buffet (the nutritional value of the flys is much lower but is good...
My only concern is the set time/ fumes I gotta figure out a substitute drainage for a bit. But I think after clearing my head of the initial shock this is the right solution for me.
So I've had my dragon strand heavy duty drainage tray since originally buying my chameleon in 2019 it has been amazing as it can support weight if you have plans on the bottom it was very functional and easy to clean I'm sad to announce that it passed away this morning I woke up and noticed some...
Unfortunately I have no experience with home filtration I lug my 5 gallon jugs back and forth to the water store one a week or so. Hopefully someone else with some first hand experience can chime in.
