the cheaper kind of pvc board is much like plastic cardboard. easy to use. i actually put it on the inside of my screen cages to limit area of possible nail damage.
just the 2 sides that butt up against the other cages. it cost me less than $35 for 4' x 8' sheet (i use green)

fever from an infection would be a sign of severe illness so stay away from the tailbase:eek:.
pictures are a little blurred. i have only seen a few infected toes in pictures. i would keep up the bacitracin and if still concerned see a vet. infection can be detected by both visual...
I am not a panther experst but
IMO besides agression it is more difficult to tell if they are eating and who is stooling and if you are inexperienced subtle signs of stress will be missed and then both of your chams may pay for it. a second cage is cheaper than vet bills

great thread
another important idea is that often its volume of infestation or exposure not necessarily the actual expose that allows immune systems to fail.
I learned an important phrase in school "dilution is the solutions to pollution" sounds corny but that is why we wash our hands...
Jacksons require higher humidity, lower temperatures and and are sensative to too much supplimentation. My captive bred females have been doing well for the last few months but i currently keep them at 70%+ humidity and mist 4 times a day for 10 minutes with automatic system. they do seem to...
are you pushing them in all the way at each connection and are the cuts straight and even? mine never leakes at any connections unless i connect them wrong

Eric,
Excellent point
I purposefully ignored the creation vs. evolution debate in my previous posts because i know how deep and strong both sides opinions can be. i have never understood their mutual exclusion. Neither theory has enough proof to explain all things. Who made the big...
From Brad's thread:
Here is some recommended information to include when asking for help in the health clinic forum. By giving this info in your post, you will receive more accurate and beneficial responses. It might not be necessary to include all this info, but the more you do include the...
your cham is only one week old? how did you get one so young? what type of cage do you have it in? is it 80 degrees all over or just at a limited basking site?

PS most people will request you fill out the asking for help questions in the thread on top
Unfortunately if you buy the wild caught chameleon from petco they will likely just replace it with a new chameleon without having learned their lesson and you may end up being the lesson learner. i have been sadly in the same position many times since my obssession with reptiles began some 20...
i don't have all your answers but ciprofloxicin is the same family of drugs (fluoroquinolones)as baytril that has been mentioned here before. Cipro is an overused moderately strong antibiotic,
calcium seems like a good bet if it is the correct dose and was prescribed.
what is aluminum...
i have heard both opinions. my attempt lasted 16 hours. my female totally stressed out and would not eat. i would second ( posted to slow Third) no.
it is so much easier to evaluate health diet and stool in seperate cages as well
sean
i am sorry to hear about your chams eye.
if he had pus collected in this area and now it is draining that may be a good sign for the cham because the infection will be less and allow the cham to heal. unfortunately the area was not a leg or body so long term damage would have been less...
I agree
I would add as a new cham owner with diverse animal experience that although i have spent as much time or $$ on other animals. Chameleons NEED constant attention to detail. all the other animals i have owned could do well without my intervetion or full attention for days or even a...
