He’s from the first hatching. The second clutch is CBB and has just hit the 1year mark. They still have at least 2-4 months to go. Only 7 made it from the first clutch.
Thanks everyone! Sorry about being MIA for a while. I’ve had a lot on my plate. Ten babies survived, are growing and appear to be stable. The oldest ones that hatched first seem to be hitting a spurt and finally getting a little bit of size to them. Sorry about the crappy pic. They’re super shy...
Woo-hoo! Sorry I’m late to the game but Congrats Janet! I’ve only seen pics of hatchling malthe on Jurgen’s “some nice pictures” thread. Not sure if they were his or someone else’s though. He shared a lot of other European breeders’ animals throughout that thread. Great species to see hatched!
7 out, 4 pipped. I’ll try to get better pics soon. Super skittish babies and I don’t want to stress them out. Very defensive and eager to fling themselves. Frustrating getting them out of the incubation container but I like seeing the fight in them!
I’m glad he doesn’t have a middle toe on the outside of that front hand because if he did, it looks like it would be sticking up at me. Still looks like an old man shaking his fist at you though. Love it.
So sorry, Jan. Just saw this. Things didn’t go awry at the Memphis hub by chance did it? That’s where I’ve had a couple delays in the past. If so, might be better for us to be extra vigilant and amend our high temp policies if they’re going through that route. Again, so sorry.
Good to hear! Keep me posted and maybe we can help each other out soon. Knock wood of course. I have a grumpy old deremensis as well! Young adult import that I’ve had for about 5-6 years now. Still loves to show his dere-aire whenever he gets a chance.
After all these years, he still hasn’t run...
Thanks Tylene! Can’t believe how much attitude can fit in such a small package! Quads are doing well. I just got a few hatchlings from a female that was imported back in 2014 that I still have. She’s only averaging 3-4 good eggs from her small clutches but at least she’s giving me something to...
Thanks Kevin! I’ve been stoked on any and all progress with unestablished species. parsonii, cristifer, campani, quadricornis ssp., minor or whatever. Nothing is guaranteed with chameleons and they could dissappear forever at anytime like we’ve seen before. Speaking of which, what if I told you...
