Here are some pics of my baby montiums who hatched between 11-22 and 11-25. I tried putting them all in one place to get a picture of all of them at once, but keeping them all in the shot was like herding cats. They wouldn't stop moving around :p.
Here they are back in their home...
They've all finished hatching and they all look great :D. I'll try to get a group picture of them all tomorrow. I actually watched one of them come out of the shell. They're so cute. I'm so excited :D.
Just a quick update, 2 more eggs hatched, 2 are starting to hatch, and the last 2 are sweating. The five that have hatched each weigh between 0.59g and 0.64g. I also weighed my other baby montium from the clutch before this one and he's up to 1.49g. He gained 0.2g from last week :D. He'll be...
There were 10 eggs in that clutch. One went bad, but the rest look nice and plump. I have another clutch of 9 eggs incubating that was laid in September.
My baby montium shed for the first time yesterday. I caught it on the tail end and most of the shed had already fallen off, but I got these pictures of what was left.
I'm in Greeley. It's not the really the Denver area, but I'm not too far away. I have a female montium and her baby that hatched 8-25, 2.1 quads, and 1.1 pfeffer's along with 18 montium eggs and 7 pfeffer's eggs.
He's the only one I have right now, but I have a clutch of 9 eggs that was laid 6-13 and another of 9 eggs that was laid 9-17. The first clutch should start hatching within the next 6 weeks. He took just about 6 months to hatch.
I just thought I'd give an update on my baby montium that hatched 8-25. I can see horns just starting to form and his back and the base of his tail is becoming scalloped, so I'm sure he is a he. I weighed him today and he had the biggest one week gain in weight yet. He went from 0.94g to...
I would use a cool mist ultrasonic humidifier. You can usually find them for under $40. There are cheaper humidifiers that blow air over an absorbent filter that sits in a tray of water, but they don't really put out humidity very fast and won't humidify much over 50%. I use 2 ultrasonic...
I just got an Olympus SZ-10 yesterday. It's not exactly a professional grade camera, but it's not bad for what I want to use it for. Here's a pic I took this morning to try it out.
I also used a portable photo studio I got from thinkgeek.com.
