I think if I was in this situation my biggest worry would be stressing out my cham with the lack of lights. When I moved recently I had all of Pestos lights etc packed up and ready the night before, so when morning came and the lights didnt turn on he was visibly distressed. He was climbing all...
Super worms should be given as treats. They are low in nutritional value and can become addicting to chams. No more than 2 or 3 a day, max! I use supers as rewards for being out of his cage
I obviously already have all my stuff set up, but my cousin has been seriously considering getting a cham after seeing Pesto and my set up  so we will probably build her a cage and we will for sure keep this in mind
Showering the cham is unnecessary and causes the cham more stress than it is worth. You should only shower your cham in dire need when they are extremely dehydrated.
The misting schedule is going to be completely dependent on OPs environment and enclosure. If they live in a drier climate they...
Weight is kinda relative based on the chams size and genetics so theres no definitive answer. Some of the best ways to determine if there is excess fat is by the cheeks, casque plates, and base of the tail. The cheeks look ok, the casque plate looks a little chubby (see how the top of his head...
Just based off of my own experience with my cham, he does tend to swivel to the side and bask to the side I'm guessing so he has the most surface area to absorb, so I can image getting a burn like that
A lot of exotic vets who dont have experience with chams will suggest this because it's what we usually do for other reptiles. The best way to ensure a good thread is to have your husbandry down 100%, which I believe you've been given all the info you need to get that in hand :) but you have...
So, I dont know if this helps your situation at all but it's important to note for the future, chameleons are dry shedders. That means that when they shed they have a pocket of air between them and the skin being shed, as opposed to most reptiles who produce an oil to shed their old skin. This...
So I just fill up old gallon jugs with my filter, and then put the water in whatever reservoir needs filled. It's notthe most efficient way to do it but its the best way in an apartment. My enclosure is no where near any plumbing as well.
