    If you want to raise the babies, start your fruit fly and cricket colonies so they are producing when you expect the eggs to hatch. Make some small cages so 3-4 will be in each cage.

    If they have full grown wings, they are adults. There are quite a few grasshopper species. Most overwinter as eggs, and have obligatory diapause and wont hatch until spring. I see some green colored adults that overwinter here in Montana.

    I cant see for sure, but if the tibia is red, it is a redlegged hopper.

    The one with the chevrons on its legs is a differential. I dont see a red legged or two striped (bivitatus) in the group.

    Powder post beetles. Larvae feed in the wood and adult beetles emerge, resulting in the holes. Used to be called death watch beetles because folks could hear larvae chewing in the wooden furniture. Folks were quietly in morning in the dead room, in contrast to the living room.

    Unless your community is fogged for mosquitos, you should be ok. Is there any intensive production pf vegetables or fruit where chemicals might be used? Its not logical that insects carry insecticides.

    Dusting Fruit flies with calcium

    Put a dab of calcium in a plastic cup. Dump in your flies. Shake it bit. Dump them into your cage. If you can see the calcium on the flies clearly, you probably have used to much.

    I performed a necropsy and found blockage from a piece of white perlite. Didn't need a vet to figure that out.
