What is the best/reputable place to purchase frogs?
I'm looking for some barking tree frogs but haven't kept them in about 10 years, so I don't know which breeders/sites are good...
I keep them down in the basement, where I assume the humidity is higher...? For years they seem to eat very little to nothing between December and March, even if I keep the room warm and spray often.
All good advice.
I've been keeping snails for years.
I live in MD and I've noticed that no matter how warm i keep the house, they seem to know when it's winter outside and will become dormant and stop reproducing during those months.
They make great feeders. I raise mine on collard...
I think running the mister is even more important that spraying the enclosure. For years i would spray my Chams cage; sometimes he would drink but most of the time he would simply run from the spray. His urates, at best, would be be 50% white and 50% orange. Then I bought a Betazooer Reptile...
Try fruits and veggies. Collard greens, bell pepper, blueberries, etc. You can apply light supplementation to these items without worrying if it will fall off. It's a good way to get food and hydration into him at the same time.
I've been looking for another Jacksons after my previous boy of 7 years died last month.
I know they're usually more available in the fall months but I' scratching my head as to why nobody from Flchams to breeders on Kingsnake seem not to have any....
WOW! The exact same thing happened with my Jacksons about 3 years ago; he's about 5 y/o now. Gaped for about a few days after feeding him a large hornworm. Never figured out why. From that day on he wouldn't touch horn worms, even if I left him without food for a few days to encourage him to eat...
