Yes, all other things are normal... She was out today in the sun for an hour - came out on her own. Doing everything as usual. She eats very well. The only other thing that is a little off, is she is not pooping as regularly as she usually does.
So here is an interesting addendum to Ophelia's story...
Last Thursday (9/21), O went through the process AGAIN of digging a hole, working all night and spent the following day (Friday) covering it up. Today, I dug up another 7 eggs. What gives? Did she not lay them all during the last event...
I have noticed with Ophelia, that she will not eat leaves, fruit, etc. in her enclosure. But during her outside time, she acts like she's at an all-you-can-eat buffet lol - I'm exaggerating a little bit, by the way. She only samples stuff when she is outside.
By the way, Kinyonga has all the...
Such a pretty girl!
Kinyonga is the expert here, but the timing seems right for her to lay again. Make sure she has a laybin ready (I always have O's in her enclosure). If you don't already, you might keep track of her weight... that helped me a lot, when her weight started to increase, I knew...
I could be wrong, but the blue horned worms are better for hydration (I fed O a couple for 2 days in a row when she wasn't pooping... worked like a charm. Cham prune juice?? Lol).
A worm that is great for calcium is the black soldier fly larva (BSFL). And butterworms are good, too.
I don't...
Have you looked through the dirt to see if there were any eggs laid? Maybe she laid them? Either way, she needs to see a vet (or the best you can do) about the tail.
She pooped this afternoon, so that is a relief. She has been eating. I noticed today, that the temp gauge was at 78-79°, so maybe her metabolism slowed down too much because the temps are too low. I have corrected that issue.
She has a small trash can filled with 2/3 organic dirt and 1/3 sand...
I do not fully understand the color schemes of chameleons... still learning and I only have one female veiled. But I'll do my best to answer your questions.
I'm assuming she hasn't been mated? If that's the case, it's harder to know when they are gravid. And it's harder to start the countdown...
